Would you breed your dog, have 8 puppies, keep 2 and then dump the rest in the middle of nowhere?

Imagine if Christianity actually taught that? There would be no need to spread the Gospel and everyone could choose to live anyway they wanted with or without a relationship with God. The Bible would be very short ... "Just try to be as good as you can ... but don't fret, everyone gets in."...

Would you breed your dog, have 8 puppies, keep 2 and then dump the rest in the middle of nowhere?

Aionios has variable meanings. When applied to God, His domain, our Salvation, it means eternal. Of course concerning our salvation it means forward into eternity. But when applied to this world and everything in it which is temporal, including Hades, death, Satan and his demons, aionios means...

Christianity requires fear, guilt, and conformity

Godly sorrow leads one to the LIGHT. This realization that you have sinned against a Holy God is guilt. We are guilty. Seeing this is the first step towards repentance ( turning towards God for help to escape this dilemma). His solution is for you to ask for forgiveness and believe that He died...

Would you breed your dog, have 8 puppies, keep 2 and then dump the rest in the middle of nowhere?

I don't adhere to the traditional Christian view of eternal torment. This motivated me to write a book with two chapters devoted to the nature of Hell: " Hell ... If I Know".

The Gospel is the backbone. But even that is a poor analogy; I would call it the heart of Christianity. The Good News shines light on the Bad News.

Would you breed your dog, have 8 puppies, keep 2 and then dump the rest in the middle of nowhere?

Agreed, I never claimed otherwise. And God is the Savior for all who believe. "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”John 8:24

Would you breed your dog, have 8 puppies, keep 2 and then dump the rest in the middle of nowhere?

No, that is why a keep a lease on my dog to prevent her from running into traffic. I do all that I can to keep her healthy and happy - my Lulu. She's a good girl. But some bad dogs, like pit bulls that bite people and cannot be controlled -- must be put down! God gives life and takes it away...

Why does God give faith to some but not everyone? (Ephesians 2:8)

Some seek and ask for it and others don't. He sees all. So according to His foreknowledge, He knows who will. Some scholars would argue against that. But I can't see it any other way. Foreknowledge is seeing things before they happen, knowing the person before they were born -- go figure. If it...

Would you breed your dog, have 8 puppies, keep 2 and then dump the rest in the middle of nowhere?

Not a good analogy but I'll play along. I allow the dogs to grow to an age where they can decide to receive a life saving vaccine that will cure them of their mental and behavioral disease. I'll try over and over again in different ways. After years of rebelling, biting the hand that feeds them...

Critical thinking and education is linked to loss of faith

Are you a Mormon? King Solomon didn't write those books before he had it all or in the middle of his journey, he wrote them at the end. Wisdom is what he prayed for in order to govern his kingdom and God gave him that but it took a lifetime. Wisdom comes at the culmination of your knowledge and...

Critical thinking and education is linked to loss of faith

Children do see life in a wonderful unindoctrinated and innocent way. We all experience joys in life that mean something. The journey through life is exciting with or without God. The meaning and purpose I was referring to was not about the temporal journey as much as our value at death. We go...

Critical thinking and education is linked to loss of faith

Religion is man's way of reaching God. Christianity is God's way of reaching man. Education is important as long as you use the knowledge for something constructive, your job, the betterment of mankind, etc. These days knowledge has increased beyond the capabilities of the common man to apply...

Share the most intelligent thing you've heard from atheists

David Perell is a highly intelligent and perceptive man who believes in the way of Jesus, how He has blessed the world, most of the truths taught in the Bible, just not about His resurrection and power to give eternal life. But I think he's close and would certainly prefer all atheists to...

The Ministry Life Of Reinhard Bonnke

Yes, heard of him a long time ago in the 90's. If anyone was ever gifted, he was. I would put him on par with Billy Graham and possibly even more effective. Many miracles took place in his ministry and his story alone is miraculous. I heard stories that he would go into remote areas where the...

Adam and Eve Were Replacements for a Previous Couple Who Died

They did not eat of the Tree of Life, they were prevented and kicked out so they wouldn't eat of it and remain in that state. That is symbolic language. Jesus is the VINE, HE IS THE LIFE. But He had to die first before anyone could eat of it.

Adam and Eve Were Replacements for a Previous Couple Who Died

Death is defined in scripture. Context is important. Gen. 20:7 involves a restoration that takes time, not 1 day. 2 Samuel 12:5 does not say death in one day either. 1 Kings 2:37 was a physical threat on that day, but you cannot compare this scripture or any other scriptures with Genesis 2:17...

    Garden of Eden

We can only guess. But I think itnwouldn't take too long for their restraint to fail. God created a beautiful Paradise for them to explore. He ordered Adam to name all the animals and botanicals. Adam had a photographic memory no doubt. So let's say there were 20,000 original kinds of animals...

Adam and Eve Were Replacements for a Previous Couple Who Died

I think we had this conversation before. Sin brought death into the world ON THAT DAY- PHYSICALLY AND SPIRITUALLY. Every living organism began to die. Defects/ mutations began to evolve. Biologically, cells began to die. Adam and Eve, and all life didn't completely die on that day, but they...

    Called Preachers Today

Millions have been called to preach. As billions have been called to God and as they have been guided to do His work, fulfilling His overall plan to spread the Gospel, this has been God's purpose. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in...

Is "The Beast" another name for Satan's corrupt, worldly, system?

Satan is at the helm. He can be referred to as the Beast, but it the world system empowered by him. The dragon with seven heads and ten horns represents ten nations joined together to attack Israel. In history the Beast was manifest in different times as the Babylonian, Egyptian, Medo-Persian...
