    Hello

As long as you stay away from the Trinity (the administrators who control this site have nixed those discussions for now) you should find a few posters to engage with you here.

    Hello

Hi there theology student Stitch. Welcome. A heads up: there are a lot of RCC-bashers posting on this site. Second heads-up: this is not the forum for discussing textual criticism or any similar topic that questions anything written in the Bible as other than the accurate Word of God -- the...

    Is Luke 23:34 spurious?

Luke 23:34a ("Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing"), a prayer unique to Luke's gospel. is widely viewed as missing in the original text. That is the conclusion of many scholars, including Whitlark and Parsons, "The 'Seven Last Words: A Numerical Motivation for the...

SCOTUS rules in majority , states cannot take Trump off the 2024 ballot!

Didn't miss it at all, Jack. Lot's of people die because doctors screw up their medications, their surgeries, their treatment programs. (Medical malpractice cases are big business as a result. My law firm handles hundreds of them.) But how many women have died because a doctor mistakenly...

SCOTUS rules in majority , states cannot take Trump off the 2024 ballot!

Maybe I missed it, but has somebody on this post bothered to cite to a Scripture passage declaring all abortions to be murder, in all circumstances -- threat to the mother's life included? We all agree that God forms us in the womb (Ps. 139:13, Jer. 1:5). But that's not the question I am...

SCOTUS rules in majority , states cannot take Trump off the 2024 ballot!

You are not paying attention. We are talking about taking a doctor's word that carrying the fetus to term will kill the mother, NOT "taking the doctor's word that the baby should be killed." The latter is not the doctor's choice to make. If the issue is whether the life of the mother is truly...

SCOTUS rules in majority , states cannot take Trump off the 2024 ballot!

Can you provide a link or something to support your contention that Biden said "it should be legal to put a scalpel through the axis-atlas cervical structure to slice the spinal cord, and penetrate the brain of a baby that has just moments before crowned out of their mother's womb?"

You heard Biden say this? Wow! Or, maybe somebody TOLD you he said this and you've chosen to believe that person? Still, Wow!

I'm going to hit the pause button for a moment and urge all of you to read the attached article. Yes, it's an investment of ten or twelve minutes of your time. But it could be an eye opener for those of you who are always and everywhere opposed to abortion under all circumstances.

How about a rape pregnancy. Did that mother "play" such that she must "pay?"

If Trump were pro-choice (as he used to be) would that disqualify him from getting your vote?

I also think rape pregnancies should be terminable by the mother. Do you?

Agreed. But don't beg the question -- "baby" is the operative word here. Is it a "baby" in the first six weeks of pregnancy, such that Georgia is authorizing murder?

Something is missing here: the determination of when in the gestational period a "baby" is in the womb. Some say from the moment of conception. Some say later. In Georgia, abortions are legal up until six weeks (roughly at the point of a heart beat). How many on this site see the Georgia law...

    Dark matter is god

Why is God's eternal existence a problem for you? Prior to God's creating the universe there was no "infinite past" as you put it. There was no "time" at all. Time is a measure of change. Think of it this way: if all is static -- if there is no change (because no matter yet exists that...

    Dark matter is god

God is generally patient through OTHER PEOPLE'S slowness, rather than His own slowness. On those few occasions where His own slowness is referenced in Scripture -- for instance, He is described as "slow to anger" -- it is not a physical slowness. So analogizing God to something physically...

Biden, 2024 State of the Union address tonight on NBC @ 9p.m est. Linked Live

Except to the extent that "person" appears in the Constitution. The courts have the job of telling us what "person" means in that context. No Congressional statute can impinge on that exclusively judicial power.

For Steve Garvey, Our New Republican Senator

Full disclosure: My use of "RedFan" is not a reference to that certain hapless baseball team in southern Ohio. (Nor is it a reference to my political leanings, although I am a Republican.)

Biden, 2024 State of the Union address tonight on NBC @ 9p.m est. Linked Live

Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization held that a woman has no federal Constitutional right to an abortion at any stage of pregnancy, thus assigning abortion law to the legislative process. Dobbs sidestepped the question of whether an unborn fetus has a Constitutional right to life at any...
