Where does the Pope get his authority?

Lol Jane. Would you care to address what I said? Or are you wanting to start a whole new conversation/debate? You stated, "For Christians, there are no “holy days”!! I then called you out on that false statement and said, Correction Jane! For JEHOVAH WITNESSES, a religion founded 1,800 years...

Where does the Pope get his authority?

Oh Jane, Jane Jane!!! A feeble attempt to change the subject? :IDK: Ephesians 5:1 doesn't say we should "imitate the faith of those who followed the example of Christ." It says be imitators of God!! Let's talk about what that passage says instead of what you want to twist it into. Mary

Where does the Pope get his authority?

You crack me up Jane. Partially quoting Scripture to fit what your men have taught you and leaving out the parts that are 1 verse later that destroys your men's teachings: Col 2:16: So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, Paul wrote...

Where does the Pope get his authority?

Thanks Jane. The Sabbath was made for man(kind), and not man for the Sabbath.

Where does the Pope get his authority?

Jane, Let me see if I understand what's going on here. I ask you a simple YES or NO question. In 2 different responses and almost 1,000 words later you didn't answer the question! I then point out WHAT IS VERY OBVOIOUS and state a VERY COMMON SAYING in the English language in situations like...

Where does the Pope get his authority?

Jane, First off, I don't count the words. Google docs does that for me. :p Second off, it's not an obsession. You are probably only the 3rd person in the 7 years I have been on this forum that I have pointed out the excessive number of words they used to NOT answer a simple yes or no question...

Where does the Pope get his authority?

Lol...Hold on Peter...HOLD ON! When you speak you speak from God's perspective???? :watching and waiting: But in post #302 you said, "What I post is my opinion." And post #167 you said, "my evidence is my opinion." And in post #635 you said When I speak it's my opinion. Sooooo which one is...

Where does the Pope get his authority?

Lol...OK Peter (the expert), thank you. I acknowledge your Catholic rant and I suspect the Catholic Church is wrong about everything, that is until YOU say it is right. But we are getting sidetracked and we should get back to talking about the subject at hand; EW Bullinger. What do you think...

Where does the Pope get his authority?

Correction Jane! For JEHOVAH WITNESSES, a religion founded 1,800 years after the death of Christ, there are no Holy Days.

Where does the Pope get his authority?

Thanks Jane. Sooooo after reading your 230+ words in this response and the 800+ words in your last response you still haven't flat out said that you don't think you should follow God's example and rest one day a week. I suspect that you don't feel comfortable writing those words, but you...

Where does the Pope get his authority?

Thanks Peter! Sounds like YOU decide who is right and who is wrong.....but maybe I am misunderstanding you. Mary

Where does the Pope get his authority?

Ok...I will play your word game. Let's try this again. Do you think that you should follow Gods example and rest?

Where does the Pope get his authority?

Hey Peterlag, @BreadOfLife beat me to it in post #627 AND 628 showing how Bullingers interpretation has been roundly refuted. Thanks BOL for saving me all that research. Peter, since you believe that Bullinger is one of the greatest scholars in the world do you adhere to all his...

Where does the Pope get his authority?

WOW......over 800 words and I still don't see an answer. :IDK: God rested on the 7th day and called it Holy. He then commanded the Jews to rest on that Holy day. Do you think that you should follow Gods example and rest on the Christian holy day? Patient Mary

Where does the Pope get his authority?

Thanks Jane, Genesis 2:2-3 is not a command for Jews OR Christians to observe a Sabbath. It is God setting the example for men. Kind of like when Jesus was baptized. Shouldn't we follow their examples? Or do you not feel that you are required to follow their examples? Mary

Where does the Pope get his authority?

Hey Jane, I am a day late and a dollar short on this conversation so it may have already been addressed. Does this passage fulfil the requirement to support a day of rest: On the seventh day God completed the work he had been doing; he rested on the seventh day from all the work he had undertaken.

Once saved, always saved is a myth.

That passage talks about men, here on earth, that rule over you. More specifically elders or overseers. If you want to pretend it doesn't then that is on you. False. They did care if He could do miracles. If He couldn't...he wouldn't have been the fulfillment of Scripture. If He wasn't the...

Once saved, always saved is a myth.

Lol....You seem to have a difficult time providing Scripture to back up your opinions..... What is so difficult to understand about this: , IF thou continue in his goodness: otherwise, thou also shalt be cut off. That one passage destroys your OSAS theory.

Once saved, always saved is a myth.

Do you like the passage that says, Obey those that rule over you? Is that a good thing to learn? Who rules over you Matthew?

Once saved, always saved is a myth.

I guess if one wants to change Scripture then you are right. Salvation is near for some but not near for those who have this tickling in their tummy that FEEL they have obtained it already.
