In my work with women who were abused as children, I "saw" enough of that nightmare through their eyes, that I never want to volunteer to hear of any more. Surely the Lord is coming to put an end to the outrage of child abuse. I pray that it will be soon.

I would say that it is a spiritual illness. Jesus seemed to note only two categories of illness--spiritual and physical. There are an enormous number of gay men who admit to suffering sexual abuse as children and pre-adolescent boys. The same is apparently true of lesbians.
