Does God want us to use His name?

I will not begin my response with an insult. So, you believe it is the Christian congregation’s role to introduce evil? God knew sin and death was going to occur and yet he proceeded anyway? That makes him responsible for all the suffering in human history. What a horrible god you believe in...

Does God want us to use His name?

So God’s perfect plan was to have his church ally itself with Rome, adopt pagan beliefs and practices, commit some of the worst atrocities in history in the Inquisitions and Crusades, torture and burn at the stake men who were trying to translate and distribute the Bible to common people etc...

    Jesus is Michael

The fact is that translation is not as simple as just picking one word for each word you are translating. That is why most of us have to examine what Hebrew and Greek scholars have done. When Bible translations disagree, we have to be guided by what other scriptures on the subject say. The...

Does God want us to use His name?

I find it much easier to believe the church was off track for 1900 years than to think true Christians entered an unholy alliance with the pagan Roman Empire imitating Rome’s bloodlust in the Inquisitions and Crusades, burning people at the stake for trying to translate and distribute the Bible.

    Jesus is Michael

I didn’t say “he” should be added to John 8:58. I don’t know of any translation that does.

    Jesus is Michael

Have you never wondered why the translation you quote capitalizes “I Am” in Exodus 3:14 as a name or title but doesn’t capitalize it in John 8:58? There are no capitals used in Hebrew or Greek. Those are choices made by the translator. They obviously did not see ego eimi as a name or title in John.

    Jesus is Michael

They wanted to stone him because he claimed to be older than Abraham.

    Jesus is Michael

The Jews also accused Jesus of violating the sabbath. Do you believe that accusation too?

    Jesus is Michael

I have lots of ignorant company. Most translators (the great majority being trinitarian) agree with the New World Translation. Out of 60+ translations at Bible Gateway only about 10 do not insert “he” or “the one” or “the Christ.” To say “I am” without stating what I am, makes no grammatical...

    Jesus is Michael

The great majority of translations read at John 8:24 “I am he” or I am the one.” The translation you are quoting is another example of verses being altered in an attempt to prove the Trinity. We do have to recognize Jesus is the Christ to be forgiven.

    Is smoking a sin?

There is no basis for capitalizing Lord in this verse. You are doing so to imply this is referring to the Father’s name. This confusion is the result of removing the Tetragrammaton and replacing it with Adonai. This confusion makes it easier to blur the distinction between the Almighty God and...

    Is smoking a sin?

Why are you capitalizing Lord when referring to Phil 2:11 from the KJV? In Phil 2 who exalts Jesus? Who gives him his name? Who is to receive the glory from confessing that Jesus is Lord?

    KJV Only...which one!

Thank you for a concise post. I actually do appreciate a lot about the KJV. I have used it for many years. I used to love seeing my fathers old KJV that he studied in as a young man. The wide distribution of it has made the Bible available to millions. I don’t agree with you that is the only...

    KJV Only...which one!

Since you only accept scholars who agree with you I won’t bother to quote all the other translators who reject the Johannine Comma. What really matters anyway is that it is inconsistent with the clear Bible truth that Jesus is the Son of God, that God is the head of Christ.

    KJV Only...which one!

So then what heresy is has to be determined by what the Bible says not by what area someone came from. Since Jesus said true Christianity would be over sown with weeds we have to recognize the great apostasy that started while the apostles were alive and really took off after their death. The...

Jehovah is either God or He is not, correct?

You seem so upset. 2 Timothy 2:4 may help you. “For a slave of the Lord does not need to fight, but needs to be gentle toward all, qualified to teach, showing restraint when wronged.”

Jehovah is either God or He is not, correct?

Facts are facts. The apostate church removed the Tetragrammaton from the Septuagint and the NT. This made the distinction between the Father and the Son less clear paving the way for the trinity.

    KJV Only...which one!

You do know that Athanasius was from Alexandria also. Alexandria was also the center of Hellenism and Syncretism. That is where Platonic philosophy infected Christianity.

    KJV Only...which one!

Please feel free to battle all you want. You seem to thrive on it. I just want to know what is true. The truth about 1 John 5:7 has been clearly established. The Johannine Comma is spurious. It was inserted to offer proof of the trinity. Almost all of the Bible translators who reject it are...

Jehovah is either God or He is not, correct?

Those who express such strong opinions about the NT not using the Divine Name ignore the fact that for years it was claimed that the Septuagint didn’t use it but then in the middle 20th century fragments were discovered that proved it was originally used but was later removed by “Christians.”...
