    Defending Homosexuality

CORRECTION: They were such things, formerly. The Apostle Paul said,"Such were some of you..." The operative word there is were.

    Defending Homosexuality

Yes, we are called to show love and compassion--especially to those within the Church. We, as Christians are to equally value truth as well as love. There are many, many Scriptures in the New Testament which enjoins us to stand for the truth revealed in Scripture. Was it an exercise in...

    Defending Homosexuality

Your interpretation of the passages you quote is obvious. Local secular government does NOT determine what is moral. God alone determines what is moral in a given situation. In this Christian era, He has given the responsibility to the Church (not government) to define morality, by the power...

    Defending Homosexuality

I don't really want to argue with your theology since that seems to offend you, but, according to Scripture, you are not correct. Matthew 11:20-22; Luke 12:47-48; John 19:11; Hebrews 10:29 tell us that there are varying degrees of punishment because all people are NOT equally bad. Christians...

    "That Wicked" has problems!

You've quoted passages on pride--do you have a problem with pride? I find that most Christians have a lot of internal conflict on that point. They confuse confidence that others express as "pride". Jesus and all of His disciples had to have the confidence that they could achieve the tasks...

    Defending Homosexuality

There is truth and there is love. There can be no real love without truth. I have known several homosexuals in my life as well and found them to be kind people--for the most part.

o_O "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom."

    "That Wicked" has problems!

I never said that I was proud--I said that I thought well of myself--as any daughter of the King of Kings should. Jesus said that we should love others AS we love ourselves. The Pharisees accused Him of being proud. What good would it do for me to think of myself as some kind of worm? If I...

    "That Wicked" has problems!

What do I care about the judgment of humans--I care only about the judgment of Christ. Considering the Proverbs passage which you quoted, I would say that your "glad tidings" are pretty hateful toward another Christian.

    "That Wicked" has problems!

And what do you think you display when you look down your nose at me and say insulting things about me? You don't even know me or my level of humility toward God and yet you feel qualified to judge my Christian character based on a few random posts where I disagreed with others? Remember that...

    "That Wicked" has problems!

Yes--I am a daughter of the King of Kings--why should I not think well of myself? I don't have a particularly high opinion of you either--it is mutual.

    "That Wicked" has problems!

Here is the proper definition of bigotry from Merriam-Webster's online dictionary: ": a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (such as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and...

    "That Wicked" has problems!

There are mostly only combative older men and sometimes soft-headed women on this website. Women with strong intellects and rational tendencies have been accused of being "butchy" for a very long time. I wouldn't expect that from a Christian man, but *shrug* there it is. Sky Writing is...

    "That Wicked" has problems!

The Roman Empire was full of mystery cults and they opposed the spread of the gospel. What is your point?

    Defending Homosexuality

Well, that is precisely what "SkyWriting" did in a post addressed to me. The post of mine that he replied to wasn't even addressed to him--yet he felt entitled to suggest that I had had more than one sexual partner. He doesn't know me at all or any of my biographical information--he just...

Are you in favor of others making foul and unfounded accusations against another member, BG?

Outgoing British Prime Minister Theresa May presides over European elections disaster

And with the Germans leading the pack. There are tensions and anti-Israel sentiment building throughout Europe as well as antisemitism. I have a Jewish-Christian friend who has relatives in France. The relatives are planning to make aliyah to Israel as soon as they can arrange it. They say...

    "That Wicked" has problems!

It can border on "secret knowledge" that only a few can know--which is quite pagan, by the way. The surface text of the Bible will tell you everything you need to know for faith and practice. I won't say that I think you are wrong exactly but I'm not particularly comfortable with the focus on...

What are your thoughts on end times fiction?

I liked the Bodie Thoene series, The Zion Chronicles. While reading it you get a feel for the history of the founding of the nation of Israel in 1947-48 and the desperation of ordinary Jews to establish a nation where they would "never again" be slaughtered at the whim of a Gentile government...

What are your thoughts on end times fiction?

Jerry Jenkins. Jenkins did not do a very good job on the series--sometimes it seemed almost like a joke to him. His depiction of the Antichrist was whiny and not scary at all (except maybe in the first book). I found the characterization laughable on many points.
