    The Church of God

The following is part of an article by Horatius Bonar (1808-1889) The Church of God on earth is not what she seems; nay, is what she seems not. She is not a beggar, yet she seems one; she is a King's bride, yet she seems not. It was so with her Lord while here. He was not what men thought him...

    What is her purpose?

By "her" I mean the Church. Simple question. What is the purpose of the Church. Please use scripture and reason to support your view. Thanks!

    THE CHURCH

Soooo ... disciples aren't "dedicated followers of Jesus"? Soooo .... you can't be a "CHRISTian disciple"? It's interesting that there is only one verse that mentions "Christians", plenty that mention disciples. Oh, btw ... thanks for all those scriptural references you supplied for your...

If Christian Universalism is true, what's the point in evangelism?

Our Lord's time on earth began at age 30 and was marked by self-sacrifice, as He gave His life for sinners. His baptism represented this journey. When He was immersed in water, it symbolized His death, and when He rose from the water, it represented His resurrection. From that moment, His three...

If Christian Universalism is true, what's the point in evangelism?

No, the work of atonement has begun, but it is not complete.

    Trump ~ guilty

That's only the half of it Jane. Here in the states, we have the Liberals (Democrats) and the Conservatives (Republicans), there are others, but these are the big two. Dems, cry out for tolerance, BUT they are the most intolerant of people. This election, if you listen to all the rhetoric from...

    Trump ~ guilty

Well, you're right about "Not trusting in God" but it wasn't because of the "heathen around them," it was because they didn't want to be different anymore. They wanted to be like everybody else. "The elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah, 5 and said to him, “You are old...

If Christian Universalism is true, what's the point in evangelism?

That's the million dollar question SteVen. What is the purpose of witnessing? I'll let you mull it over a bit. No, true believers have a relationship with God now, the rest of the world will eventually have theirs during the millennial kingdom.

If Christian Universalism is true, what's the point in evangelism?

I think you answered your own question. I'll add that Jesus ransom sacrifice was not that it saved everyone, but that it gave everyone the opportunity to be saved under the right conditions.

i hope we all be together in the end somehow...

That may be true, but remember Keiw, only you and Aunty Jane are the only true followers on this forum, that means 99% of the members here according to your belief system are unknowingly servants of Satan, so wouldn't it be the Christian thing to do, to quote and reference scripture for their sake?

i hope we all be together in the end somehow...

I love the way you quote Jesus and don't give a citation

i hope we all be together in the end somehow...

Satan was right, because by your calculations, he misled 99% of humanity. When you understand The Divine Plan and the ransom, you'll leqarn that number is much, much lower, waaaaaay lower.

i hope we all be together in the end somehow...

99% eh? Wow, I guess Satan was right, so while he lost the war, he won the battle for the souls of humanity.

    Christ’s Promised Return

The disciples of Jesus confidently believed that their Master was the promised Messiah and that he had come in fulfillment of the Old Testament promises relating to the establishment of a powerful government that would extend its sphere of influence throughout the whole earth. (Isa. 9:6,7; Ps...

    Following the Master

Jesus invited those who believed on him to become his followers. He made it plain, however, that the only ones who could be his true followers were those willing to deny themselves and bear the cross. (Matt. 16:24) Jesus explained that those who did not love him even more than they loved the...

    THE NEW JERUSALEM

"He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name. ... Then I, John, saw...

    Christianity and Politics

There's a lot that Jesus never spoke about or against, that doesn't mean it's okay to do them? Things Jesus never mentioned: Homosexuality going to church Read the Bible America / Democracy I mean we can go on and on. As to Mark 4:9 that you quoted, perhaps you could explain the parable to me...
