    Should Priests Get Married?

No, Jesus gave the power of binding and loosing to the Apostles -- all of them as Scripture plainly teaches. There is no evidence that they passed down this authority via the fabricated-out-of-whole-cloth idea of 'apostolic succession.' And the assinine idea that the Church has the authority to...

    Built On The Wrong Apostle

This is a myth that never seems to die. The ecumenical council of Nicea (325 AD) didn't address the canon of Scripture. The first councils to do so were the regional councils of Hippo (393) and Carthage (397). If you would like to see for yourself, I'm providing a link to Philip Schaff's History...

    Should Priests Get Married?

I invite you to show me where I ever said marriage is a Biblical requirement. Did you really miss the point that badly or is this just a red herring that you hoped no one would notice? Again, the point I made in my previous post stands. Quite clearly there were married Apostles and elders in the...

    Built On The Wrong Apostle

@kepha31 It's highly unlikely that Peter is the rock in Matthew 16. The use of the demonstrative pronoun ταύτη (this) in "this rock" points away from Peter to something else. Jesus addressed Peter directly as the Greek text clearly indicates. Since when is it a legitimate use of language to...

    Couldn't agree more. Excellent post.

Neither the bread nor the wine were to be one-off events. We can see from Paul's letter to the Corinthians that both elements were to be recurring. 1Co_10:16 The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation...

    Built On The Wrong Apostle

I agree. I have no disdain for Peter. I just have a problem with unbiblical ideas about him.

    Built On The Wrong Apostle

Sure do. James speaking at the end of the prceedings says: Act 15:19 Therefore my judgment is that we should not trouble those of the Gentiles who turn to God, Act 15:20 but should write to them...

    Should Priests Get Married?

It looks like you haven't been paying attention. We've been over this already. Your very first so-called 'pope' had a wife. So did some of the other Apostles as well as other leaders. 1Co 9:5 Do we not have the right to take along a believing wife, as do the other apostles and the brothers of...

    Built On The Wrong Apostle

Let's see if your reasoning holds water. Paul is mentioned 189 times in the NT. Maybe the title of your post should have been THE PRIMACY OF PAUL. It seems that your 'most mentioned' rule has already fallen apart. And when Paul speaks of Peter, James & John as "pillars" of the Church, he lists...

    Are you catholic?

Hilarious! Prayers in the imperative mood! In another post you said that prayer is 'asking.' So now prayer is also 'commanding?' You failed to mention that before. The goal posts are on the move. It would seem that any and all communication constitutes prayer for you. Despite your Scripture...

    Are you catholic?

When Jesus told Lazarus to "come out" and Peter told Tabitha to "arise" they both used verbs in the imperative mood. In other words, Lazarus and Tabitha were issued a 'command' not 'prayer.' You continued mishandling of Scripture is not only shameful, it's an act of pure desperation.

    Are you catholic?

@epostle1 You said: I pointed out, via Deuteronomy 18:9-12, that those who inquire of the dead are an abomination to the Lord. Then you said: Allow me to point out the definition of 'inquire.' in·quire inˈkwīr/ verb ask for information from someone. "“How well do you know Berlin?” he...

    Are you catholic?

Scripture does in fact clearly address such nonsense. Also, I would be happy to discuss your ridiculous examples of prayer to the dead. Deu 18:9 "When you come into the land that the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominable practices of those nations. Deu...

I know it can seem that way, but consider the following examples: Rev 19:11 Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. Rev 19:12 His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are...

    Should Priests Get Married?

Your false dichotomy is pure deception. I don't believe for a second that you don't understand. The man who wants to be a priest/leader, but does not want to be celibate must choose one or the other. According to Rome he cannot have both. According to Scripture he can have both. Rome errs.
