    Watchtower selling luxury real-estate

I'm not a JW either, although we have a connected history. And yes, "lots of churches invest their money in various things," I've seen churches in my area with gift shops and coffee shops. One church has a Starbucks inside. That said, it's out in the open and the congregation can see it.

    Watchtower selling luxury real-estate

I wasn't complaining, just making an observation. Please don't read into my comments emotions and sentiments that are not there So, you don't have an issue with the Society selling luxury homes in the name of Jehovah? Did you even know? Were you surprised? Did you know the GB are building a...

Southern Baptists reject ban on women pastors even as majority supports ban

The Southern Baptist Convention rejected a controversial ban on women pastors in the country’s largest Protestant Christian denomination in a monumental vote on Wednesday, allowing women to remain the heads of Baptist churches, ending a two-year battle stemming from the interpretation of the...

    Watchtower selling luxury real-estate

So, how does that work Jane, if I'm a JW and lose my home to a natural disaster. Does the Society send a team of volunteers over and rebuild my home over the weekend, like the Habitat for Humanity organization? Or do they just pat you on the back and say "sorry for your loss, trust in Jehovah...

    Watchtower selling luxury real-estate

The Governing Body can do what they want, there's nothing illegal with buying and flipping property for a profit. That said, they should be honest with their members, letting g them know where their donation go and for what. Because God only knows what else do they with their donations. And...

    Watchtower selling luxury real-estate

Just wondering if the rank-and-file members know that their donations go to buying real estate that is flipped for a profit. Makes you wonder what else they do with the donations given to them.

    Watchtower selling luxury real-estate

I have a question for the Jehovah's Witnesses on this forum. Why is your organization selling real-estate? I'm not discussing selling Kingdom Halls or branch offices (Brooklyn Heights). I'm talking about selling luxury real-estate. IBSA PROPERTIES

    EVERY EYE WILL SEE HIM

It seems you wish to apply all these verses to the first century, if that is the case, than NONE of what the scriptures tell us apply to anyone outside of that time period. 2,000 years later, what are we doing?

    EVERY EYE WILL SEE HIM

Notice verse 2, they knew “perfectly that the day of the Lord [the Second Advent] so cometh as a thief in the night.” They were correct in their understanding of that subject, but they had to be taught that it would occur at a later date. Verse 3 has been misunderstood. First, who are the...

    EVERY EYE WILL SEE HIM

Verse 7 is a promise and not a warning. Christ will return and everyone will mourn for Him. This is a promise to the church in the present that the world will not always be as it is now. Yet despite the short length of this verse, it requires a great deal of explanation. “Behold He is coming...

    EVERY EYE WILL SEE HIM

Let's look at the context of this verse. The thought in the Greek is “For as the sunlight rises out of the east, and shines even unto the west; so shall also the presence of the Son of man be.” The reference is not to the orb of the sun but to sunlight. The sun arises in the east and makes its...

    Trump ~ guilty

Ah, He's not done with them yet. Remember what Paul said in Romans 11:25, 26 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And...

    EVERY EYE WILL SEE HIM

“BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen”—Revelation 1:7 (NASB) Revelation 1:7 begins with a prophecy from Daniel 7:13,14 (NASB): “Behold, with the clouds of...

A PURE RIVER OF WATER OF LIFE

When we read of this “river of water of life,” we notice that truth will flow as a mighty river, refreshing and blessing the whole earth (Rev. 22:1). This river comes by means of the prospective members of the bride class that now have God’s spirit in them. The Bride is to become a “partaker of...

    HUNGER FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS

In Matt. 5:6, Jesus said, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” “Hunger” and “Thirst” suggest a human craving for food and drink. However, in this scripture, Jesus is not referring to food and drink, but a hunger and thirst for...

    WILL MAN LIVE FOREVER?

Man wants to live forever. While he lives longer today than in the 1800s, typically people only live into their 70s or 80s. This was prophesied in Psa. 90:10 (BBE): “The measure of our life is seventy years; and if through strength, it may be eighty years, its pride is only trouble and sorrow...

That doesn't make it so. God is no respecter of persons. The only Nation He ever gave his blessings to was the Nation of Israel.

Reasons why the Jehovah’s Witness religion is false (Despite my love for them as human beings)

"Stuck in a time warp"? LOL Tell me, Jane, If Bible Students believe they have the Truth and have tried and tested it over and over the past 150 years, why would we need to progress? Progress to what? Your Governing Body claim to speak for God and Jesus, they have the red phone on their desk...
