Living in Sin or just roommates who love each other?

I would agree except two in the case of an elderly couple. Could be more about physical support and shared resources than a love affair. I don't see an elderly couple causing too many folks to stumble. I'm sure there are cases of an elderly person who simply could not get by without a live in...

Living in Sin or just roommates who love each other?

I've really enjoyed catching up and reading the responses after being out of town. WOW. First the couple in the OP is fictitious. For the record I'm 62 and happily married. Could it not be possible to love someone and care for them deeply but not the kind of love that would cause you to marry...

Do we confuse Born Again with Salvation?

You are correct, I meant mortal body. Meaning that we have a corrupted flesh that is in opposition to the Spirit. A body that fails, a body that will turn to dust. At the rapture we get a NEW immortal body. (I think I got that right):)

Explain Revelations So Even I Can Understand It

I think it's a high level view with some overlap. Our God is not a God of confusion.

Explain Revelations So Even I Can Understand It

Revelation is not a simple, linear chronology, but a complex one. There is certainly overlap and we find that in many places in scripture. Chapters 1-4: Introduction to the Prophecy Chapters 5-7: Prelude to the Great Tribulation Chapters 8-10: First Half of Tribulation Chapter 11: First...

Explain Revelations So Even I Can Understand It

Falsely taught according to whom? You?

Do we confuse Born Again with Salvation?

My understanding is that Jesus first came to remove sin (his sacrifice) and his second coming is for Salvation. Now But Yet To Come. We that believe are saved but we still have an immortal body and struggle with the flesh as it was demoted and replaced by the Spirit.

Explain Revelations So Even I Can Understand It

Something that helped me was a free podcast with the late Chuck Smith doing an expository teaching of Revelations. He is a great teacher that explains it clearly. You can also find Chucks teachings on Revelation on Youtube.

Do we confuse Born Again with Salvation?

Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Salvation is yet to happen? We seek Salvation. We await Salvation.

Who Is The "Root" We're Grafted Into?

This is pretty deep. Never looked at the tree analogy like this before (Judaism, Essenes, Sadducees and Pharisees ) making up the branches. I see the tree only being made up of belief and unbelief. The Jew and Gentile filter was no longer relevant.

Who Is The "Root" We're Grafted Into?

Worth study. It would seem since Paul was addressing "you Gentiles" Romans 11:13 it is a group not an individual so it makes more sense to me that a comparison between a group with another group is in play. Those broken off were Jews but I do not think it was their nationality was the issue, it...

    We are in agreement.

Who Is The "Root" We're Grafted Into?

I see this more simplistic. Only the Jewish people were given and offered the Gospel initially. Those Jews that believed formed the tree. By Gods grace us Gentiles were now offered salvation by faith. The Gentiles who believe are grafted in to the tree that was once not a possibility. Those Jews...

The Myth of saying that Jesus Christ died for all men without exception !

It seems to me that Calvinism in its most dogmatic version desires to remove man from all responsibility. God made him a rapist, God made him a molester, God picked him for salvation. Man was nothing more than a pawn. Those who go to Heaven are there only because God made them and those who go...

Living in Sin or just roommates who love each other?

Thoughtful responses. If we are concerned about appearances and how some might presume, are roommates of opposite sex a bad idea regardless of how they feel about each other? Is marriage only marriage if there was a ceremony, consummated by sexual relations? Marriage seems to be defined by...

Correct. By God's grace we through faith believe.

    Unity of faith

It's pointless. He would disagree with Jesus. Proper exegesis is of no concern to him.

Living in Sin or just roommates who love each other?

I do not know anyone in this situation but I'm fairly certain some are. My underlying question what exactly is living in sin? Is it a sexual relationship that makes the difference? Would we look at it differently if the two were 30 years old?

Living in Sin or just roommates who love each other?

Two seniors in their 70's one widowed one divorced love each other. They decide to move in together. They have no desire to get married this late in life. They have separate bedrooms, no sexual relations, no joint bank accounts but truly love each other and for the most part are viewed as in a...

    Secure Eternal Salvation

Jesus died on the cross so YOU COULD be forgiven. When Jesus died on the cross the whole world did not become saved. I can pay your bail money so you can have freedom but you do not have to walk out of jail a free man just because I did so.
