Did the messengers lie about Jesus coming in the first century?

Every man is given the authority by God to believe what he will. I have simply presented the other side of your belief.

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

You have been deceived, Marymog! 1 Peter 3:21 "The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:" The "like figure" is Peter presenting the water...

Did the messengers lie about Jesus coming in the first century?

I'm not a fan of long posts either, but sometimes there is no way around it. I wonder MatthewG, is the post too long, or is your attention too short? Was your mind already made up before you posted the OP? Concerning the return of Christ, have you not read the prophecy of Zechariah? Zech...

Did the messengers lie about Jesus coming in the first century?

This is nonsense, it makes no sense at all! It's no possible that Christ returned in the 1st century. Christ is shown as the Creator, the Saviour, the High Priest, and our Mediator. All these titles are connected to who Christ is in relationship to man. He has not been revealed as the King...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

It doesn't matter how many are present, if only the person who baptized you is present, that is your testimony before man. Which brings me to the works of water baptism. If you make water baptism a requirement for salvation as the Catholic do, you have made the works of man a requirement for...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

I followed the commandment of Christ to be watered baptized immediately after I accepted Him as Saviour. But not for the apparent reason as you. The very moment I said yes to Christ, my sins were forgiven, I was regenerated by the Spirit and became that instant a Child of God. What happened to...

    Signposts of the Coming Apocalypse

Can you explain to us why Christ said this to the Church? Rev. 3:10-11 "Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

You haven't proven anyone wrong, what you have proven is that you don't understand the spiritual aspect of "the baptism into Christ" that Paul explained in Rom. 6. You don't understand that Ananias was speaking of the symbol of the spiritual baptism "washing away sins." You don't understand...

    John 8:24, 28, 58 - Jesus Christ IS YHWH

Let me show you something, Wrangler. If you want to understand why I'm a Trinitarian, just let me show you. Phil 2:5-8 "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and...

    'God working' question

I think it's safe to say God does many things. The Scripture says that Satan is walking to and fro the earth seeking whom he may devour. God is seeking whom He can save from being devoured! That involves the born-again getting off the backside and in the fight. I would dare say that God...

What are some good bible commentaries?

From Genesis chapter 3, where man brought sin into the world and fell from God, through Revelations, is the story of Redemption. The Old Testament directly or indirectly is the story of Redemption. All the history and prophesy found are a type of Redemption. Christ is hidden in types and...

Does John 1:1 say Jesus is God

This is very difficult to explain concerning the 1st chapter of John, for me anyway. I'm not a scholar but I will try to relay what I understand from Scripture. God is a spirit, and the Holy Spirit is a spirit, they have no form of flesh and are not visible to man. We know that Christ said He...

I take it from both sides.

Some say that in the Churches Paul built, the Gentile Churches, that the women sat on one side and the men on the other. During the service the women would talk across the isle to their husbands, asking questions of what was being said, disrupting the services. This came from 1 Cor. 14:35...

    Are Jehovah's witnesses real Christians?

The masters of the Law (the Jews) took the meaning of "Son of God" to be claiming Deity and took up stones against Christ for saying it. But Wrangler says, no that's not what it means. Gee, who should I believe?

    Are Jehovah's witnesses real Christians?

Looks like a play on words to me! Believe what you like Wrangler, you know where I stand on the subject.

    Are Jehovah's witnesses real Christians?

I am indeed a Trinitarian! I remember many years ago being uncertain and reading commentary by Calvin on the subject. I have been a strong believer in the Trinity since. He along with some others had an overwhelming case for the Trinity, in my opinion.

    Are Jehovah's witnesses real Christians?

If you have read any of my posts you would have no doubts as to the answer of that question.

    Are Jehovah's witnesses real Christians?

If you place what I said in it's proper perspective, it's easily understood. Or you can make a big deal out of nothing.

    Are Jehovah's witnesses real Christians?

I know nothing about the Trinity! There is nothing in Scripture for me study on the subject. But I do know there are 3 Deities described in Scripture, but how they are One God I haven't a clue. When John identified the 3 Deities, calling them One God, the true definition of what that really...

    Are Jehovah's witnesses real Christians?

If they did they were the unread. No one can explain how 3 persons plainly portrayed in Scripture are one God. It's beyond human comprehension. Obviously is was not meant for us to understand in this human life. But some will go to the One God manifest is three persons thing, which is not...
