Friendly Bible Study - participants must agree to Nicene Creed.

All good, the matter I am addressing is that in my 8 years on forum many folks do not understand the difference between the Word of God and the Scripture and close down those who claim to experience the Word of God outside of Scripture. Yet Scripture makes this distinction quite clearly. In fact...

OK - I have settled on the first theme I would like to share with you. I want to answer the question - What is the Word of God ? (also known as the "Word of the Lord") The reason for doing this is that the answer fundamentally guides us in how we approach Scripture. Background reading will...

Another aspect of testimony that others have touched on is that we can be dumbed down when sharing for fear of ridicule. Also we hesitate to share because our encounters with Him will be interpreted as putting ourselves on a platform. I say do it anyway. People need to hear that He is Emmanuel -...

Hey... I look down at the Similar threads, below this post, and see the words 'Better Together' Sure is true - build relationships with Love and respect and then consider matters of Truth. A common thread through the testimonies is that coming to the end of one's self is right where He shows up.

Friends, I am blown away by the responses - The amazing thing is that I had a request from a Pastor in Africa to start a bible study - felt I should test the water - checked it out with the Mod's - and here we have a beautiful group of folks touched by Jesus's Love and open to His Word. Amazing...

Friendly Bible Study - participants must agree to Nicene Creed.

Welcome to the Friendly Bible Study. Please let's initially chat together - maybe a short introduction from each one. We have 8 so far - I was unsure about Hepzibah and there might be a couple more. Just freely share about yourself - we want to build fellowship as a foundation for joining...

I have been warned by the Mod's more than once to avoid this area of debate and I intend to comply. Frankly there are some aspects of God's existence that the rational mind fails to grasp even with the testimony of Scripture. His timelessness is a good example. But hey - I am wanting to create...

Given that the forum forbids argument concerning the trinity, it is best to allow both inclusion and exclusion as such matters are part of the mystery of Gods makeup and we may even ponder with awe on such matters even in eternity.

Presently I am intensely involved in supporting my wife's business in Postnatal care so I will need a few days to put together the first introductory offering.

We will look at the Apostles Creed and the Nicene Creed first as participants will need to agree with these fundamental foundations. Then we will consider what is the Word of God, with references from Genesis, Psalms and John. I intend this to be a safe place for friendly fellowship and hope for...

I will copy the link to you. There are some technical issues - someone found the link already and it was meant to be private.

To Everyone... I have had dialogue with the Mod's and they set up a Sub-Forum that is invisible and only accessed by permission. What I propose is a little different than what we are used to as most bible studies are in lecture format. I would like to present our interaction with Scripture as...

All good, my branch of the Anglican church is conservative being under the Maori Diesis. 39 articles - yes. My son loves 1662. I have a Baptist/Charismatic background and initially struggled with Liturgy but had a very strong call to this particular church so hung on in... "I find any solid...

Yes good point - Lets see what folks prefer - I am guessing being here in a place already understood will be preferred if it works well. Just wondering if this Zoom meet is Adventist ?
  17. Carl Emerson

    Bible Study

Yes, that was the format I initially preferred, but we can try what has been suggested and see how it goes. Some folks are intimidated by even the word Zoom but can handle the less confronting media that is text based.

Cool let's just stay here and folks can join if they are interested. I note one member who wanted to promote JW theology has already left. Can block members who want to promote some narrow theology, cause concern, and refuse to leave ?
