The unpopular (but deadly) truth of conditional salvation

The funny thing about your disrespectful, arrogant, non-humorous attempt at humor is that you will have to answer for it.

The unpopular (but deadly) truth of conditional salvation

This is absurd. Obedience is walking in grace through faith. As it is written, 'As you received Christ Jesus the lord, walk in him'. To state what you did above is the spirit of the works of law, not the works of faith. If the holy spirit is in them, they are in Christ. Whether they are walking...

The NT insists you must obey Jesus to gain eternal life!

This is true. One must endure to the end. Christ said that in our patient endurance we possess our souls. The implication is that those who don't endure are dispossessed.

Amen As you received Christ Jesus the Lord [by faith], walk in him [by faith]. Colossians 2:6

The NT insists you must obey Jesus to gain eternal life!

Obedience is faith in GOD and loving one's neighbor as one's self.

The unpopular (but deadly) truth of conditional salvation

Nevermind. I can define obedience in two words: faith and love. Anything beyond that is commentary.

The unpopular (but deadly) truth of conditional salvation

How do you define obedience? Perhaps that would help clarify your position in people's minds.

The NT insists you must obey Jesus to gain eternal life!

Jesus' commandments are: Believe in Christ [The people] said to [Jesus], 'What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?' Jesus answered and said to them, 'This is the work of God, that you believe into him whom he has sent.' John 6:28-29 Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the...

The unpopular (but deadly) truth of conditional salvation

I didn't say 'obedience to the faith', but 'the obedience of faith'. I'm merely asking if a person is required to continue in faith in order to be saved. I think that you would agree with that per your comment that 'If I am traveling on a road, I cannot continue to travel on it by changing which...

The unpopular (but deadly) truth of conditional salvation

So WM, is there no requirement to continue in the obedience of faith to be saved?

The unpopular (but deadly) truth of conditional salvation

I wouldn't call it either. I would simply call it edification about the nature of salvation.

The unpopular (but deadly) truth of conditional salvation

In these 3 cases you've presented a distinction without a difference. The use of if or since makes these verses say the same thing, i.e., salvation is conditional upon the continued obedience of faith.

    Touching base on Love

If you left your country and moved to Australia and became a citizen of that country, would you not be considered an Australian?

THE QUESTION NO ONE WANTS TO ASK

IMO, to a very large degree, pastoring has become a professional occupation instead of a calling.
