Preterism, What is it? Is it truth?

That doesn't even make sense. Not when these were some of the signs; So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let no one on...

Preterism, What is it? Is it truth?

Here's the thing: other old testament events were described using the same hyperbolic language. Also the rapture is an idea taken from like one verse and only works if the verse is taking hyper literally. The word “Rapture” is taken from the Latin Vulgate translation of 1 Thess. 4:16‐17, which...

    Robots and Will Worshipers

To help you understand: and I'm not even an open theist per say; The debate is not about the scope and perfection of Gods’ knowledge, for both open theists and classical theists affirm God’s omniscience. God always knows everything. The debate, rather, is about the content of the reality God...

I agree that God knows all there is to know.

    Very funny.

Context, God must not deny his nature. Doesn't have anything to do with his knowledge of events.

Your Thoughts: Are The NT/OT Gods "Different"?

Same God, different ways of dealing with the sin problem. God doesn't change, but that doesn't mean he can't change his methods.

As can anyone. That's why we need context.

Where did you pull that from? Not being able to deny himself?

Preterism, What is it? Is it truth?

Or perhaps those who believe we will experience the tribulation are too focused on their own time and miss how well these prophecies line up with events in the past. Many generations face very challenging times. We aren't special in that regard.

The Difference Between Hope and Faith

Good words.. thanks, I have really been struggling in my prayer life lately, mostly with cynicism, this notion in my head that I will never see them answered.

    Three Wishes

I would wish that all my children would be close to Jesus all their lives. As for me I want my neck arthritis to go away, and I'd like to grow a new set of teeth as the old ones are getting pretty bad.

Preterism, What is it? Is it truth?

Partial or full? Preterism makes a lot of sense of some Bible verses that otherwise are hard to understand. I think it was CS Lewis that flat out said that Jesus was mistaken when he said that it would happen in this generation. Of course Lewis was incorrect. All the other theories of end times...

    Who founded your church?

That's everyone. It's got nothing to do with baptizing babies. He's just confirming that Jesus died for all generations and people.

    Who founded your church?

Let me stop you right there... That's not necessarily true at all. I guarantee you lots of parents baptized their babies only because of tradition.

Should christians stop celebrating Valentine's day

It might be a little weird that we celebrate St Valentine's execution by sending chocolates to each other, but nothing wrong with expressing love to our loved ones at Valentine's day.

    Robots and Will Worshipers

you may freely eat of every tree of the garden but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, Yes, a god that tells you not to do a thing, but causes you to do just that, is a liar.

Yet none of those verses support your theology.

    Robots and Will Worshipers

You are just trying to throw up a smoke screen to deny the obvious. Does God desire man's obedience in every situation? Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord?” God would never have had to implement sacrifices if men never...

    Robots and Will Worshipers

Lol, your God is a liar. God creates ha-adam out of nothing (creatio ex nihilo), and thus man is created free. When God takes man ha-adam and places him in the garden “to till and keep it,” he tells man, “you may freely eat of every tree of the garden but of the tree of the knowledge of good...
