    the law of faith?

Perhaps to the intent of the heart and not the outward letter or outward performance. Point?

    the law of faith?

You don't know me at all. How can you make such personal pronouncements of judgments. I was speaking to you in general terms that apply to all Christians and you turn around and launch specific accusations at me. Where did you get the notion, for example, that I do not desire to obey His law?

    Hermeneutics vs. "Herd-meneutics"

    I'll let God decide that.

    Hermeneutics vs. "Herd-meneutics"

Fine, and it seems you cannot tolerate the opinions of others but have to keep attacking them as if you are some sort of doctrinal savior. lol Again. Good bye and thanks for your opinions.

    Hermeneutics vs. "Herd-meneutics"

I don't 'can' 'truth' when I see it. How about your amillennial replacement theology? LoL Goodbye.

    Hermeneutics vs. "Herd-meneutics"

Thanks for your 'opinion'. Obviously we don't agree on this matter.

    Hermeneutics vs. "Herd-meneutics"

The textual manuscripts are one thing, the scholarship is another. Both are on my side of the issue. The KJV may be good, but it is not the final inspired translation or is its set of manuscripts. Or are you one that holds to the KJV only?

    Hermeneutics vs. "Herd-meneutics"

Ok! But I'll leave it at this, the ekklesia in the NT is not the same as the ekklesia in the OT, just as my 'house' is not the same as your 'house'...a different entity altogether. Have a nice day.

    the law of faith?

You may think you 'keep' the law, but even your best day at 'keeping' the law falls woefully short of God's standard of perfect righteousness. And to think you are 'keeping' it (as it should be kept) only proves you are sinning.

    the law of faith?

I guess you don't realize that the law has already condemned us and we were found guilty under it. Now, we live by faith in Jesus... Galatians 2:19-20 NKJV [19] For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God. [20] I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live...

    Hermeneutics vs. "Herd-meneutics"

Yes, I can read Greek, but that is not my point. I showed where only one translation translated the word ἐκκλησία, as 'church' where all the others translated it as congregation or assembly. You seem gung-ho in insisting that it ought to be translated 'church' against the better judgment of...

    the law of faith?

Yes, I think I had mentioned that verse a number of times. What I was referring to was when people in their own strength try to keep the law.

    Hermeneutics vs. "Herd-meneutics"

Apparently, the vast majority (hundreds) of NT translational scholars are in error according to your inflated way of thinking. It's your attack on those who are way more studied in the original languages than you.

    the law of faith?

Walking by law? That depends. Is its source self and self effort or is it a result of abiding in Christ and His Word... thus bearing fruit?

    Hermeneutics vs. "Herd-meneutics"

    Thanks for your 'opinion'.
  16. prism

    Hermeneutics vs. "Herd-meneutics"

So what? English has many words which carry more than one meaning depending on context. Apparently you are just choosing the one translation that fits your RT narrative while ignoring the others. Have a nice day.
  17. prism

    Hermeneutics vs. "Herd-meneutics"

Depends which translation you use unless you are a KJV'er Only person...Acts 7:38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sinai, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us: (KJV) “This is he who was in the...

    Hermeneutics vs. "Herd-meneutics"

The context determines whether it is assembly or Church. Never does the KJV translate the Hebrew word for 'assembly' or 'congregation' as Church, nor does the Septuagint translate any of those OT words into ekklesia. Besides, you'd need to address Matt 16, where Jesus says "I WILL BUILD my...
  19. prism

    Hermeneutics vs. "Herd-meneutics"

I already know the reference and like I said, the KJV is the only version that mistakenly uses the word Church, others rightfully use 'congregation' or 'assembly' in that passage.
  20. prism

    Hermeneutics vs. "Herd-meneutics"

KJV uses the word Church, other translations use the word congregation which is closer to synagogue as (con)gregation =(syn)agogue. Not once is there a word in the OT translated into the Word 'Church' it was referred to as an assembly or congregation. Synagogue=Assembly/gathering together Church...
