Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

Now you know bbyrd009 that attempting to be your own God will probably come into conflict with the trinity of satan, the beast and the false prophet since satan wants all the worship for himself.

Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

So we have had some interaction in this thread although no direct answer from anyone about whether someone who believes in scripture alone as their guide to Christ and the Father is acceptable or whether such a view is heretical. The most telling thing that has occurred is the attempt to...

    The make up of God

I am surprised that you are only just getting the meaning. To amplify the meaning of this subject I will take this a bit further. As Amadeus has kindly revealed, in the formation of the living beings called man they were not simply spoken into existence as were other parts of the creation. Mans...

    freewill is bogus

If God chose to make Adam and Eve willing then there never would have been sin nor the need for a test in Eden. What you may not realize about your assertion that a persons will is nothing more than Gods choice is to place God in the role as author of both good and evil. As it should be plain...

    Knowledge of Good and Evil

The redeemed will always have free will and as God promised they will have a helper with them forever to guide them so why would we need a guide unless it is possible to take the wrong path? One of the big things with this period of learning that we are going through now is to better discern the...

Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

After that last implication against the Father I would be quite glad to be on that list too although I still wouldn't quite feel safe about the possible blast radius that may still occur.

Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

My flesh is amused by you immensely. I must lash myself repeatedly to stop the evil from abusing me.

Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

I can of my own fight nothing. All she can promote is the fruit that she freely displays.

Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

The Church is the true body of Christ which I seek. If as you say that I can be saved without belonging to a sect then you admit that I can be saved and never join your sect. And the answer is "yes"

Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

You have not The question you ask is not a reply to the question posed in this thread. Let it be asked again; IF someone such as myself were to say that my understandings for God, Christ and salvation are entirely founded on "Sola Scriptura" does this mean that in other peoples views I could be...

Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

So you believe a person can be saved without ever being part of any sect right? Where is it stated that "They still have to go to The Church that Jesus established to know The Truth". In essence you imply that one cannot know the truth from scripture.

Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

This quote has been made a number of times in this thread. 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

What does God say? <---- this is a question not a statement Are the words from scripture below from God or not? <---- this is a question not a statement 2 Timothy 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which...

Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

Interesting... you can't seem to stop either putting words in my mouth or statements in my questions or my faith into a defined category. Show me where I have ever stated that I am part of any specified sect of Christianity. Go ahead read every post I have ever made. Better yet here is another...

Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

The real quick answer here is that a question cannot be a question and also be a statement. the use of words in sentences such as "if" and "were" followed at the end of a sentence by a "?" indicate in the English language that a question is being asked and not a statement being made. Definition...

Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

sola scriptura The phrase sola scriptura is from the Latin: sola having the idea of “alone,” “ground,” “base,” and the word scriptura meaning “writings”—referring to the Scriptures. Sola scriptura means that Scripture alone is authoritative for the faith and practice of the Christian. The Bible...

Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

Indeed. Now here is a bit tougher one if you enjoy as I do the searching of scripture, there are 2 more references that can be found in Ezekiel. 1 is in Ezekiel 11 and 1 in Ezekiel 36 that most people never catch.

God's will, your will, eternity....why our will?

Here is their dogma; I. THE DOGMA OF THE TRINITY The Trinity is the term employed to signify the central doctrine of the (catholic) religion -- the truth that in the unity of the Godhead there are Three Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, these Three Persons being truly distinct...

Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

Actually the OP statement is "Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic". Feel free to discuss the question being asked. Attempting to sidetrack the question into the question of how scripture came from God to us is as I said a good subject for a thread that you should start.
