WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

Try verses. Those belonging to the world refuse to repent throughout.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

Yes--if the whole world came to Him and asked forgiveness--He would wipe out their sins as well. But, sadly, we know from the Book of Revelation that a large portion of the world's population will not.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

Our posts crossed each other. Calvary cleansed the Church. The wrath of God on unbelievers is yet to come.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

When did THAT happen?? I think I missed it. If you mean that His wrath was poured out on Jesus on the Cross, I would say that you are correct in a spiritual sense--that is how we in the Church are cleansed. But, the physical wrath of God is yet to come. He did exercise it in the Flood but it...

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

Yes--it is the "Blessed Hope". I think their objections have to do with two things: First, it is likely the belief of many Christians that the Church has always been persecuted--so why would we believe that, in this one instance, the Church would be spared? To that, I say, yes, the Church has...

Poll - Tattooing: from male military and biker ethos...to viable witness means for both genders?

I would be concerned about someone who was doing it to "feel good" because when does it stop? Some have described being "addicted" to getting tattoos (and their extensive tattooing give witness to it). I would be especially concerned about Christians who are caught up in getting one tattoo...

Poll - Tattooing: from male military and biker ethos...to viable witness means for both genders?

Yes. :) I still think extensive tattooing is pretty ugly, though. Not a spiritual objection--merely an aesthetic one. LOL

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

You are doing violence to the Scriptures when you take statements out of context. The first is Luke 17:21. Jesus is there speaking to the Pharisees and a group of His followers. The Pharisees ask Him when will the Kingdom of God come? The expression, "Kingdom of Heaven" is used exclusively...

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

There is a reference to believers in Troas meeting to "break bread" (celebrate communion) on the "first day of the week" which would have been Sunday. (Acts 20:7) But I agree that the earliest believers, especially because they were Jewish, likely worshiped on the Sabbath, if they did not meet...

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

The Sabbath is and always will be on Saturday. It was established by God and man has no right to mess with it. The early Christians often met on the first day of the week (Sunday) because that was the day that Jesus rose from the dead. But that did NOT change the Sabbath to Sunday. Many...

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

And even when He takes us up to heaven, the angels will still be here, one of whom will be preaching the "everlasting gospel"! (see Revelation 14:6)

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

Jesus came so that we would not only have life but have it more abundantly. (John 10:10) There is NO substitute for the joy felt by those who love Him. Possessions, money, fame, beauty, the high regard of others--all fade away in spiritual death. "Let the dead bury the dead" and come to joy...

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

Some Christians are so wealthy that they should be giving more than a tithe to the work of the Church. Some are so poor that they should be receiving help from the Church. The New Testament says we should give as we are able and to receive help from the Church with gratitude.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

You will get no argument from me on that point except that I do not believe that the OT was replaced by the NT. If that were so, why would we use it at all for anything?

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

As Gentiles, the OT is not to us but it is for us.
  16. L

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

No, He did not. He said in John 10:35--"The Scriptures cannot be broken." The Scriptures of which Jesus spoke were obviously the OT since the NT had not yet been written. The very early Church taught extensively from the Septuagint--the Greek translation of the Hebrew OT. Why would they do...

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

Why is that relevant to the point I was making about a physical Kingdom promised to Israel? Ezekiel said it would come to pass in "the distant future".

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

When did He do that? He was undoubtedly circumcised Himself. Paul circumcised Timothy.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

I didn't say WE were still under the older Covenants. As Gentiles, we are under the New Covenant.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

Believing Jews are still circumcising their baby boys to this day.
