WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

Abraham's spiritual seed is the Church. His physical seed is Israel. They have been promised a physical Kingdom. God fulfills His promises even though humans do not.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

The prior Covenants have NOT been nullified. They were put aside temporarily in order for God to make for Himself a people from among the Gentiles. See Romans 11:25-26.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

There are many Jewish-Christians who have as fervent a love for Jesus and His Church as I have ever seen. Why would you turn your back on them? Lutherans in Germany largely turned their backs on them during WWII. Of the estimated 250,000 Jewish followers of Jesus prior to WWII, only a...

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

Huh? I never thought that it was anything but spiritual.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

That is Replacement Theology and I will NEVER accept it. You are wasting electrons. The Tree of Life will be in the eternal state--when there is only one people of God. Until that time, there will always be an Israel and always be the Church of Christ as two distinct groups of His followers.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

I think I already did but you did not accept the evidence from Daniel 9.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

Why? We are specifically told to avoid loving this world. 1 John 2:15-16--->"Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not...

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

That is your OPINION. You cannot prove it from Scripture.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

Not me. Talk to really old Christians. They will say that they love the thought of getting a glorified body that will never die and not be subject to pain and suffering as their mortal bodies now are.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

But Jesus told His hearers that He came NOT to destroy the Law. He fulfilled it for all of us who, without the Helper, could never meet its moral demands. Peter admonished the "Judaizers" in Acts 15:7-11, but that does NOT mean that the foundation of the faith--in Judaism--was nullified. Nor...

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

That is reading into Scripture something that is not there--nor is it even implied. The sacrificial system was NOT ended until 70 A.D.--well after the Resurrection. You would need to spiritualize to accept your teaching. I try to avoid that.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

Exactly! We should seek to please Him in all things--just as one who loves another, seeks to please the object of his/her love. In that case, there is no need for constant self-flagellating with the "rules". A more blessed way to live.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

The gap was already there (see Daniel 9:24-27). Why did Daniel separate the 70 "weeks of years" into 62 weeks of years and the last 7 weeks of years? Scofield just explained the gap to his satisfaction. Others are free to explain it any way that seems right to them.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

I think that is a rather harsh statement. There is a long tradition of attempts to help Christians understand what the Bible is saying. Scofield was just another in that tradition. One might as well criticize Augustine, Wycliffe, Calvin, Luther or Tyndale. Are their attempts infallible--hardly.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

I don't think Scofield intended it to be prophecy--rather, just an explanation of the KJV text, since Christians, in his day neither understood nor spoke the King James English.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

The Scofield Reference Bible has now become the Scofield Study Bible and is somewhat less hard-edged than the original. Today's Dispensationalists are not inclined to gloss over difficulties in Bible interpretation the way that Scofield did. But, IMHO, Dispensationalism still has much to offer...

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

I know lots of Dispensationalists who would never say that the Sermon on the Mount "is not for today". The New Calivinists are taking over what was once the fortress of Dispensationalism, the mighty Southern Baptist Convention. It is likely the "radical grace" influence of the New Cals who are...

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

It would probably be met with anger because it would be perceived as trying to "legalize" the church. This generation of pastors mostly preach a "diluted gospel"--one that places no requirements on the hearers. But, as Pastor David Wilkerson often said, "A diluted gospel is no gospel at all."...

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

Jesus never left nor forsook His followers and He will never leave nor forsake us. But those who truly love Him will desire to please Him by refraining from evil. Everything that is not done in faith is evil.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

Yes, I think you are right. To please Him, we must abide in the True Vine (by reading and studying our Bibles, praying and doing good out of our love for Him). We gain spiritual discernment as we live and love in Him. Walk in the Spirit.
