    OSAS : Gnostic Heresy

Faith is NOT simply “believing”. James 2:19 reminds us that even the DEMONS do that much. That’s why he goes on to say that faith without works is DEAD (James 2:24). No – faith is also surrendering to God and His will. Faith is Belief+Surrender+Works all wrapped together You cannot DO Hisa will...

    OSAS : Gnostic Heresy

Ummm, guess again . . . The Bible is blindingly clear that we can LOSE our security by our OWN doing:. The Scriptures warn us that we need to STAY faithful – to the RND: Romans 11:22 “See, then, the kindness and severity of God: severity toward those who fell, but God's kindness to you...

    OSAS : Gnostic Heresy

The Bible assures us that, as Christians, we are ALREADY SAVED (Rom. 5:1, 8:24, Eph. 2:5–8) This is Initial Salvation – God give us the initial grace to believe. However, because Salvation is a LIFELONG process – it ALSO says that I am BEING SAVED (1 Cor. 1:8, 2 Cor. 2:15, 7:1, Phil. 2:12, Heb...

    OSAS : Gnostic Heresy

Not sure what you mean. As I showed you in my last post the, the Bible demands that we cooperate with God's saing grace: Matt. 23:37 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her...

    OSAS : Gnostic Heresy

Poverty can absolutely be a blessing. It is poverty that produces humility, whgich is necessary for us to approach God. Prov. 21:13 Haughty eyes and a proud heart— the unplowed field of the wicked—produce sin. James 4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

    OSAS : Gnostic Heresy

Absolutely. However, we must coopeate with that grace in otder to be saved (Matt. 23:37, 2 Cor. 6:1). Exactly. That grace only works with our acceptance - our cooperation . . .

    Mary as New Eve

Yes but individually we are not the Body of Christ, but parts of it (1 Cor. 12).
  8. BreadOfLife

    Mary as New Eve

One problem with that interpretation - Gen. 3:15 is talking about the feet of the Savior - NOT Mary. That’s why Paul could make the reference to ALL of us because we ARE the Body of Christ.

That doesn't fit the context of what James is saying. He is literally talking about the efficacy of works as they pertain to faith. Nive try . . .

    Mary as New Eve

Luke 11:28 But he said, yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of god, and keep it. Here, Jesus is not lessening his mother’s importance. He is saying what YOU just said. It’s not the fact that she gave birth to Him to nursed Him that deserved the woman’s praise. It’s that she heard...

Yup – you’re almost there . . . The thing you don’t comprehend is the Bible’s use of hyperbole, because you are a Literalist. This is a flawed way of understanding Scripture because SOME of Scripture is literal – and SOME of it is symbolic. Allow me to explain . . . Hyperbole Many verses use...

Again – CONTEXT is your enemy. Both Jesus and James are saying the SAME thing in context. Matthew 5:34 But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. And do...

And, as I already educated you – SACRED vis to God are pleasing to Him (Num. 30:3, Deut. 23:22, 24). The ONLY one “adding” to Scripture here is YOU. The Bible back up MY argument (Num. 30:3, Deut. 23:22, 24) . . .

    Mary as New Eve

Jesus probably called MANY women, “Woman” – but they weren’t His Mother. NOBODY calls their mother, “Woman”, unless they’re being disrespectful. Jesus, who followed the Law perfectly, honored His mother. Tell me, Einstein – was the woman at the well also mentioned in prophecy about the seed of...

The Roman Catholic Church Infallibility Thread

I already explained to you that Jesus didn’t like the concessions made by the Law, He also didn’t like the frivolous oaths allowed by the Law. YOUR problem is that you don’t understand CONTEXT. Are YOU married? Were your parents married? How about your siblings, grandchildren, etc.? Have you...

    Mary as New Eve

The idea that Mary is the New Eve is a belief that goes back ALL the way to the Early Church In John’s Gospel, Jesus never refers to his mother as “Mother” (John 2:4, 19:26). Whenever He addresses his mother, he calls her “Woman”. This correlates directly to the Woman in Gen. 3:15 and in Rev...

Ahhhh, I see - it's your ignorance of Scriptural context that is your downfall. Time for a Bible Lesson . . . “When a man makes a VOW to the LORD or binds himself under oath to a pledge, he shall not violate his word, but must fulfill exactly the promise he has uttered” (Num. 30:3). “When you...

The Roman Catholic Church Infallibility Thread

There you go again, vomiting out ignorance. Time for a Bible Lesson . . . Is Jesus telling us that we can’t call certain people "fathers" or “teachers” when they may actually BE fathers or teachers? Absolutely NOT. He is saying that no man is to be considered father above our Father in heaven...

The Roman Catholic Church Infallibility Thread

First of all - you DO teach Sola Scriptura - which is the false, unbiblical doctrine that the Bible is our SOLE Authority. The Bible says differently (Matt. 16:19, Matt. 18:18, Luke 10:16, John 16:12-15, John 20:2123). Like the Protestant "Reformers" before you - YOUR problem is sitting right...
