What I'm saying is that you literally can't read anything without interpretating it to some degree. And just because there's false interpretations, that doesn't change.

Doesn't this run counter to cessanism? I have read where cessanists mocked a Christian writer who suggested praying for guidance and listening to the Spirit. They seem to believe that only scripture is useful for guidance.

Does anyone read scripture in a vacuum? It's literally impossible not to interpret what you read. If that wasn't true, those of us who read scripture would all agree on it.

Depends on how you read it. If you read it in light of others that confirm Jesus and the Father are one, you will understand he's not talking about a separate entity.
