Revelation chapter 20 - Gog and Magog

No resurrection is needed for the spiritually dead to live again. That is why that view makes sense. It doesn’t make sense to start inserting time gaps, at least to me.

Revelation chapter 20 - Gog and Magog

No, it’s clear to me that the rest of the dead spiritually came to life after the millennium, that is the same time the Son of man is revealed, the same time the fullness of the Gentiles come in, and the same time the blindness in part is lifted. It all fits and makes sense.

Revelation chapter 20 - Gog and Magog

What other city could it be? New Jerusalem is in heaven and the beloved city in Revelation 20 is on earth.

Revelation chapter 20 - Gog and Magog

No, the camp of the saints is Jerusalem after the rest of the dead came to life and fled. Those who chose to remain in Jerusalem after it was surrounded by armies were devoured.

Revelation chapter 20 - Gog and Magog

Yea, Revelation 20:5 says the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. You need to have the rest of the dead being alive during that shaded area.

Revelation chapter 20 - Gog and Magog

“Them” is referring to the beloved city, Jerusalem. Look, you can believe what you want but I’m not going to accept the insertion of time gaps in the scriptures just so someone’s view can work.

Revelation chapter 20 - Gog and Magog

Right, but if you insert a gap for the rest of the dead to only live again after the short season then why not have a literal thousand years with a gap inserted after the thousand before Satan is loosed? And why not insert a gap after the two witnesses are done with their testimonies?

Revelation chapter 20 - Gog and Magog

Satan is loosed after the millennium. The rest of the dead live again after the millennium. You have a time gap after the millennium for the rest of the dead to live again, right? If so then you should be willing to accept a time gap after the millennium for Satan to be loosed, right?

Revelation chapter 20 - Gog and Magog

Sure, but I find fault in your method of interpretation. Why should I just accept that statement you made?
  10. G

Revelation chapter 20 - Gog and Magog

But if you insist they are physically dead and force a gap to be inserted as to when they are resurrected then by that same hermeneutic you would have to accept the idea that a gap can be inserted as to when Satan is loosed. Not to mention all the other gaps I can insert elsewhere in the Bible...

Revelation chapter 20 - Gog and Magog

I’m partial preterist, I abandoned the Amil view a while back, I find fault in their view of Satan’s little season.
  12. G

Revelation chapter 20 - Gog and Magog

The Jews believed when the Son of man was revealed and that’s when they fled. That was also the time when Jerusalem was surrounded by armies, and that was also when the fullness of the Gentiles came in, that is when all that was prophesied for the Gentiles was fulfilled. When the Son of man was...

Revelation chapter 20 - Gog and Magog

You’re arguing why the Revelation 20:5 rest of the dead can’t be physically resurrected after the millennium but would have to be resurrected after Satan’s little season. That’s the same argument for why they have to be spiritually dead not physically dead. They come to life after the millennium...

Revelation chapter 20 - Gog and Magog

I’m focusing on Israel being called “dead” after the cross. That is very relevant to the rest of the dead in Revelation 20:5. If you’re arguing that people who don’t believe Jesus was the Messiah are spiritually dead, then we are on the same page. In Deuteronomy 33:1-3 Moses calls all of Israel...
  15. G

Revelation chapter 20 - Gog and Magog

That’s why they are spiritually dead and not literally dead. You are making the case for that view.
  16. G

Revelation chapter 20 - Gog and Magog

Ok then do you accept that a literal thousand year millennium could’ve already taken place and that we are now in a time period where Satan is still bound and not loosed yet?
  17. G

Revelation chapter 20 - Gog and Magog

Ok, so would you agree then that there has only been one true Israel throughout time and the promises were made to that one true Israel and not the unsaved Israel that doesn’t believe in Jesus?
  18. G

Revelation chapter 20 - Gog and Magog

Those who were following and abiding by the law were spiritually “alive” prior to Christ. Once Christ came, those who didn’t recognize Jesus as the Messiah while still following and abiding by the law were now spiritually “dead”. All they had to do was not believe and they went from being alive...

Revelation chapter 20 - Gog and Magog

But you are assuming the rest of the dead are physically dead and not spiritually dead. If you would accept that idea you wouldn’t need a resurrection to make the spiritually dead live again prior to Satan’s little season and you can keep the physical resurrection at the GWTJ.

Revelation chapter 20 - Gog and Magog

Israel remaining blind in part isn’t immediately removed, it doesn’t say to immediately flee when you see the AOD, the two witnesses aren’t immediately overcome and killed. That’s the whole problem, if we accept the hermeneutics of inserting gaps when we need them I can start making the Bible...
