Thank you Mark for answering the questions.

Wow! Good to meet you! I lived in Berlin for a while - in Lichterfelde West. I read St John of the Cross quite a long time before reading the ECF and was greatly helped by him during a 'dark night of the soul'. So good to find someone else who has studied these great spiritual people.

I don't want to go through the Greek @Johann . I want to know, in @marks words what he thinks it means. You know there are plenty of forums for Bible scholars out there arguing over Koine Greek. Amigo already complained to you yesterday.

But that means because God is three in one, we can multiply everything by three? I agree that everything was given to us from the cross and we have to appropriate it. But it is by faith so can be sprung up all together when we make our offering on the altar.

@marks would you break down that verse to show how you understand it. Paul is saying, is he not, that his hearers were not yet completely sanctified but he was praying for that which would be when? And what about the blameless?

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

Not sure I follow you here sister. There is surely one point of entry into Christ.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

So do you prefer entire sanctification which is scriptural? And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thess. 5:23

@Johann if you would like to make one or two points, I will consider answering, but not a whole wall as you have posted.

You use the term Trinity don't you. Found nowhere in the Bible.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

The Bible says there is one baptism: Eph 4:4There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. As you say, as we lay our flesh on the altar, it...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

I see it as the Baptism of the Holy Spirit saves us from sin. The disciples followed Jesus before that.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

@Lizbeth It is when we have been illumined as to the extent of the evil in the old man that we will consent to his/her crucifixion. Death then life.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

@Lizbeth Yes it's in the reckoning.

I also see carnal believers as opposed to the spiritual. Do you not agree? The carnal? Well this is true and I would not expect all elderly church members to display the fruit of the Spirit for this reason. But when there isn't ONE, which has been my observation, then I have to take stock...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

I got it from Norman Russell who says it is a philosophical term used in both a weak sense and a strong sense in Orthodoxy. Yes but what exactly does it mean in practical terms. Also 'becoming' rather than 'be' will no doubt be disputed by theologians. Scripture says to put off and put on like...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

@Lizbeth agreed but many terms need some explanation. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 2 Peter 1:4. We all know this verse but what does it...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

@marks I have just seen your edit. No I am not saying that. We have received everything we need, at the cross and all we need is to appropriate it. This is the reason why I said that understanding spiritual things is not easy to explain or understand.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

I was not saying the last bit to you Mark. I did say all. I know that you are as interested as I am over deepening relationship with Christ. You seem to want to misinterpret me over everything I say now especially over accepting anything that is not in the Bible which I have explained I do not...
