I don't believe God called Israel His chosen people because He favors them over others. The scripture says God is no respecter of persons. We are all equal in His eyes. What God is referring to as a chosen people is that He chose this tribe to be the lineage which Jesus would come from.

Amen, and I agree with you. What I think you are not seeing is that, regardless of what Scripture teaches us in the New Testament, the Jewish people back in Jerusalem are actively preparing for the new temples construction. They don't have a new Testament Bible, all they use is the Torah.
