The Love I Had at First

My husband said something like this: "You never get back the feeling you have at first, much like a marriage where the passion dies down over time. But you gain trust in God and stability. God is still at work in the path you ended up taking." I might have been confusing excitement for love...

The Love I Had at First

When I first met Christ, all I aspired to was serving Him as a missionary of humble means. I was a middle class spoiled teenager so my parents laughed and told me to go to college. I never got the bachelor's. I married my husband instead and came to realize my faith was lacking. I wish I...

Which one are you in the story of the Prodigal?

I feel prodigal. At 14, when I first converted, I only wanted to serve Christ in a humble setting---likely missionary work. But my parents scoffed at this. They said I ought to focus on myself. So I tried to get a bachelor's. That didnt work out. I so wish I had kept the fire I had at...

    300 Words or Less!

I'm clearing a path future generations will tread. In the secret place, prayer builds monuments and cathedrals of blessings. I am a sojourner here. I am not permanent. The world roars. Christ whispers Follow me instead of these things.

    300 Words or Less!

She sips the coffee stained mug on the sofa as the sun sets. In this moment, she is happy. Fall is coming bringing cozy treasures. Im home,  she thinks with a deep inhale. I'm home and it's all I need.

Is the "free gift" of salvation really free? - Honestly?

Maybe in leading others to Christ, people should be honest about the difficulty and the amount of suffering involved. Christianity is not for everyone. It costs worldly ease and success. We shouldn't want people to follow Christ under compulsion. Either you want to serve Christ and obey Him or...

We've Grown More Outside of Church

Striving for the narrow path is very discouraging and lonely at times. Lord, have mercy. Part of me would love to just be apart of practically any church and act like Im saved by raising my hand in response to a salvation message. I just don't believe that. And I know that suffering is part...

    The Breaking of the Lord.

Im getting a lot out of these videos. I remember feeling such a desire to detach from this world on first becoming a Christian. Unfortunately there were some that threw wet blankets on this desire. Im excited to come back to it.

    Home as Ministry

This may sound counterintuitive but our homes and all the things in them are going to burn up one day. It's important to seek God and the Kingdom first ---all the rest, including upkeep of the home is secondary. Once you prioritise seeking God in prayer, the rest falls into place.

Authentic Christianity Part 2: How do we abide in Christ?

Okay, I think I understand... Righteousness on our end is required---obedience to Jesus's commands for the lower walk. The foundation. But the higher walk is empowered by the Spirit where we can visit God, Christ is in us empowering us to do miraculous works. This is only from seeking the...
