    Actually I would rather say it is the believer `casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.` (2 Cor. 10: 5) The good news of Christ`s sacrifice and victory need to be put into effect.

    Hi Marty, The great chain is a symbol of God`s word of authority. This was foretold in Isaiah 14: 15 `Lucifer.....you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the pit.`

    I read what you said but it does not line up. It still means that no individual scripture can be taken on its own but must line up with ALL of God`s word.

    2 Peter 1: 20 & 21 `private interpretation` refers to `of its own` interpretation and not in line with all of scripture which as you rightly say `by the Holy Spirit.`
