    Why the great chain?

Remember what God said to Satan referring to Satan`s (limited) authority over Job.. `So the LORD said to Satan, "Behold, all that he (Job) has in in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person." (Job 1: 12)

    Why the great chain?

Actually I would rather say it is the believer `casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.` (2 Cor. 10: 5) The good news of Christ`s sacrifice and victory need to be put into effect.

    Why the great chain?

Hi Marty, The great chain is a symbol of God`s word of authority. This was foretold in Isaiah 14: 15 `Lucifer.....you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the pit.`

When Jesus returns at the last trumpet, death will be swallowed up in victory and there will then be no more death, which will fulfill Isaiah 25:8.

Ekklesia - a calling out, assembly. `that He might present IT to Himself...` (Eph. 5: 27. `it,` (Gk. 846) `autos,` self, third person IT. Jesus is NOT the Head of a female BODY.

When Jesus returns at the last trumpet, death will be swallowed up in victory and there will then be no more death, which will fulfill Isaiah 25:8.

`Eph. 5: 31 "For this reason...` What reason? We have to look back to verse 30. `For we are members of His Body, His flesh and His bones.` That is the reason - we are members of His Body, the new man, coming to a perfect, mature man, and we are to put on the new man. Do you know where this...

I read what you said but it does not line up. It still means that no individual scripture can be taken on its own but must line up with ALL of God`s word.

You are reading what the Lord said to ISRAEL. (John Matt.) 2 Cor. 11: 2 is what Paul is saying to his disciples. He wants to present them to the Lord pure. However, it is NOT Paul who will present us to the Lord, it is the Lord Himself. `Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and...

`...AND upon the Israel of God.` Two groups there. Sons of God, yes to all who believe and are led by the Spirit of God. However, not all have the same place as a promised inheritance.

Eph. 5: 31 & 32 `For we are members of His BODY, of His flesh and of His bones. "For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh,: That is an exhortation to husbands to love their wives as their own bodies for they are...

King Jesus will return at the end of this temporal age and then deliver His kingdom to God the Father

It really is a matter of `I think I am answering you, but you don`t understand what I am saying.` So, trying again, and again..... Now your first question. `....if you would agree that His enemies will be made His footstool at the point when all of His enemies are under His feet, including...

No, In time the nation of Israel is the wife of God. (Isa. 54: 5 & 6) this means His relationship with Israel is as a husband/master. In eternity the `bride` of Christ symbolically represents the glory of God through this vehicle in the physical realms. (Rev. 21: 11, 23) I think people get...

Closer relationship is obvious - Head - Body - the New Man, the perfect man, put on the new man, we will be like Him. (Eph. 2: 15. 4: 13, 24 I john 3: 2) You have not addressed those scriptures that I posted, (except 1 John 3: 2) I said that the `city` was a community of people who rule in...

2 Peter 1: 20 & 21 `private interpretation` refers to `of its own` interpretation and not in line with all of scripture which as you rightly say `by the Holy Spirit.`
