    Do you hunger and thirst?

I'm not sure what you are getting at. What I want to know is the one and only true interpretation of verses that God inspired. And that is what I prayed for about ten years ago and also to wipe my mind of all doctrines of man. He started immediately, and it was fascinating. R, have you ever...

    Do you hunger and thirst?

But false doctrines come out like OSAS just because a verse meant to be about the apostles only, they apply to themselves.

    Do you hunger and thirst?

6:37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. 6:66 From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. 67 Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?” 6:68 But Simon Peter answered Him...

    Do you hunger and thirst?

Here is something you probably have never heard before. The first text you are giving, John 10 is about the apostles only, not about we who follow their teachings. In John's writings he uses "key words." In his gospel that key word is "given" as also in John 6:37, 39 and Jesus' prayer for the...

    Do you hunger and thirst?

I can't see in Scripture that OSAS is 100% reliable. All we have to do is keep abiding in Him, but those in Matthew 7:19-23 did not. They had to have had salvation at some time to be able to cast out devils, etc. but Jesus declares, "I never knew you." Just don't lay at my doorstep any of your...

    Do you hunger and thirst?

I can agree as far as Scripture declares. But it doesn't apply to a born again of the Spirit Christian who doesn't have any desire to sin, but willfully sins anyway. There is no more sacrifice for those types of lawless sins. Hebrews 10:2 and 26-31. This we see sometimes when a pastor or...

    Do you hunger and thirst?

Hi, Rocker. Two statuses Jesus acts as mediator. When someone first starts trusting in Jesus, and when we are in the process of becoming perfect and complete. Jesus does it all, and He paid dearly for that position of mediator. Also Advocate in 1 John 2:1-2 is for mankind, not just who are...

    Do you hunger and thirst?

Here we go again, you not knowing at what stage a person is. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. That is why we need our sins taken away by Christ. And how do we do that? By becoming a Christian through repentance. Verse 9 is not a 'get out of hell free card' to be used over and...

    Do you hunger and thirst?

I'm afraid, or should I say glad that I cannot agree with you. Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith. When born again of the Spirit Jesus removes the desire to commit any of the commandments of God, Himself. Then as the Finisher of our faith, Jesus matures the fruit of the Spirit and...

    Do you hunger and thirst?

They are not from a sin nature as you may think. They are from our human nature. Now, I'm not sure what you are referring to, but I have not willfully sinned since 1977. Have you ever gone against your own conscience? If you have, that would be a willful sin. I haven't.

    Do you hunger and thirst?

Not about sins unto death. My life took a drastic change when I was finally filled with the Spirit. Even my dreams were "Christian." I came across a Scripture that suddenly became clear recently and verified my experience back in 1977 when I was born again. It is Hebrews 10:2. Back then I...

    Do you hunger and thirst?

He used a Scripture out of context and is in error. He used Romans 7:20 from the old man. The old man has been crucified IF WE HAVE BEEN BORN AGAIN. Then we are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, IF the Spirit of God dwells within. And if someone does not have the Spirit of Christ he does not...

    Do you hunger and thirst?

I said that because as you read on two verses the "me" contradicts the "I" in Romans 7. He is talking about two different time periods. By you hanging on to the "I" in verses 14-25 you even miss his plea in verse 24 of a Savior! But he then we see He found Christ in verse 1-2 of the next...

    Do you hunger and thirst?

You have to determine the context. Just because Paul uses "I" doesn't mean the context warrants it. Read verse 9. That is talking about before the law was given to Moses (since Adam) and then at the giving of the commandments to Moses. Paul uses "I." Was Paul immortal to be alive at the time of...

    Do you hunger and thirst?

There are only two verses in Romans 7 that describe a Christian not under the Law, vs. 5-6. Verse 9 is about before the law from Adam to Moses. And Romans 7:10-25 concludes Paul's teaching on the Law of the Old Covenant. Chapter 8 starts life in the Spirit. Rocker, to not have the battle...

    Do you hunger and thirst?

Paul tells us that our New Covenant is of the Spirit, not the Law. Romans 7:14-25 is what life was like under the Law. Do you really not know that?

    Do you hunger and thirst?

I ALWAYS write CONTEXT! CONTEXT! CONTEXT! the exact same way to everybody. It is THAT important.

    Do you hunger and thirst?

Don't be foolish. CONTEXT! CONTEXT! CONTEXT! I didn't make up the context, you are blatantly disregarding what the apostle means. So I guess taking verses out of context you consider yourself still in the flesh (as opposed to verses 5-6 which clearly shows that was in the past before becoming...

Reconciled to God while enemies !

Seeing as you are a Calvinist, you may be able to help answer a question I have wondered about. The "T" in Total Depravity. Is that only before regeneration, or still after regeneration? In other words, have you been taught you still have a sin nature, or after regeneration you have a clean nature.
