    Worries about heaven?

Hi Tony (HAPPY NEW YEAR :)), why do you believe that we will not have such thoughts in Heaven? Will we have no memory of this life when we are there (Heaven/the New Earth) as Isaiah 65:17 seems to indicate? I ask because, if we have no memories of this life, what possible meaning could words...

    Can angels repent?

Hi Tony, it seems to me that angels (if they have free will) could certainly choose to "repent" if they wanted to, but even if they did, they could not be forgiven because, unlike us, they do not have a Savior to make atonement for their sins. God bless you!! --Papa Smurf p.s. - HAPPY NEW YEAR :)

Is the OT YHWH the NT Father?

So says the Apostle John about Isaiah's throne room vision .. Isaiah 6:1-4; John 12:41. There is also this passage a bit later in Isaiah concerning the Lord Jesus. Isaiah 9 6 Unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And...

Did Jesus ever claim to be the son of God?

MERRY CHRISTMAS TONY, et al :) Luke 2 8 There were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said...

Did Jesus ever claim to be the son of God?

Luke 22 66 When it was day, the Council of elders of the people assembled, both chief priests and scribes, and they led Him away to their council chamber, saying, 67 “If You are the Christ, tell us.” But He said to them, “If I tell you, you will not believe...

    Unforgiveness and fellowship with God

    Q. What does it mean to “count the cost” (Luke 14:28)? A. In Luke 14, Jesus lays out the terms of discipleship. There were great crowds following Him. Everyone loved the miracles, healing, and free food. Jesus was cool, the talk of the town, and the latest fad. But He knew their hearts. He knew...

    Unforgiveness and fellowship with God

Hi Dan, all of our sins are atoned for at the foot of the Cross, but God actually forgives us/forgives our sins and cleanses us of them when we confess them to Him .. e.g. 1 John 1:9 (both when we come to saving faith, and throughout our lives as believers). We do indeed choose to stop or avoid...

    Unforgiveness and fellowship with God

Hello again Dan, the vital point that I've been laboring to make to you isn't, "if you keep believing, you'll be saved" (which is certainly true), the point is, did you ever start (believing, that is)? THAT'S the all-important question that you need to really think through and answer for...

    Unforgiveness and fellowship with God

Hi Dan, as far as I know, that is correct (that all of our sins are forgiven at the foot of the Cross) since none of our sins can be forgiven apart from the atoning sacrifice of our Savior's death/shed blood on our behalf .. e.g. Hebrews 9:22. So, along with a teaching of Calvinism, I believe...

    Unforgiveness and fellowship with God

Hello again Dev, the devil and all of his minions are already condemned and w/o hope (they have no Savior like we do). We are commanded to resist them (and hopefully, with God's help, we do), but forgive them? No! (have you ever heard of a penitent demon? ;)) The command from the Lord Jesus...

    Unforgiveness and fellowship with God

Hi Dev, how can we tell who the "sons of the devil" are so that we will know who to forgive and who not to forgive (such divisions among us are best left to the angels at the end of the age, are they not .. e.g. Matthew 13:24-30)? Also, are we not to forgive any and all who ask us to forgive...

    Unforgiveness and fellowship with God

Hello Dan, it's the sense of the closeness of our fellowship with God that's lost when we sin. As King David said to God, "restore unto me the ~JOY~ of Thy salvation" .. Psalm 51:12, not salvation itself, because that was not lost (or broken) ... and as I just noticed that @GRACE ambassador has...

    ALL SCRIPTURE is God-breathed

Hi Marks, while they're always making new discoveries, I believe that the papyrus Greek fragment known as "P52" (from John 18:31-38) is still the earliest NT copy that we possess. If memory serves, it comes from either the end of the 1st Century or the beginning of the 2nd, and it was found in...
