When Jesus "took away" your sin, did He leave behind the source, the sin nature?

There is no guarantee in Hebrews 12 brother, or anywhere. God does His part, but we also have our part and need to be willing. The bible says that if we sow to the flesh we will reap destruction. People aren't always repentant no matter what the Lord does, that is just a sad fact. There are...

When Jesus "took away" your sin, did He leave behind the source, the sin nature?

Yes, the bondage/dominion of sin left you, could we say...? Sin shall no longer have dominion....praise the Lord. And amen, keeping ourselves, purifying ourselves etc.....we have our part to play, though it is by grace and not in our own strength. For example, we mortify the deeds of the...

When Jesus "took away" your sin, did He leave behind the source, the sin nature?

There is a lot to consider with all these things. If you don't mind me butting into the conversation, it seems to me that sin is sin in that it all proceeds from the same main source whether wilful or inadvertent. But I do agree that the Lord treats them differently. We are covered for, and...

Death Penalty: All in Favor? All Opposed?

It becomes very simple when we separate the holy from the profane. It is governments that have the responsibility to keep order and maintain justice in the world........as Romans 13 says they are God's ministers (so to speak) for that purpose and do not bear the sword for nothing. But that is...

When Jesus "took away" your sin, did He leave behind the source, the sin nature?

What I seem to observe is that after coming to Christ, we follow the same pattern as Israel.......learning and being tutored by the law until Christ is fully formed in us. The law teaches us about our lack, how we fall short in our own selves. Jesus said to the rich young ruler....."If ye...

When Jesus "took away" your sin, did He leave behind the source, the sin nature?

Yes, I agree he has been completely dealt with as I was just mentioning to Mark..........but we need to walk in that reality. Most of us aren't there yet. But I believe it is possible, and we should be aiming for nothing less.

When Jesus "took away" your sin, did He leave behind the source, the sin nature?

Just want to add..........I am not sure we have to wait to physically die for the day to dawn.......just the death of our old man. And as scripture says, our old man really has been crucified with Christ already.......Jesus has accomplished it for us, but we need to "apprehend" and get hold of...

When Jesus "took away" your sin, did He leave behind the source, the sin nature?

Thinking in terms that it is our new man who cannot sin......but our old man will continue to sin or miss the mark at times in spite of our best efforts, to some degree until he is completely dealt with.

When Jesus "took away" your sin, did He leave behind the source, the sin nature?

Amen. The battle and struggle is like the struggle and squeezing of a baby through the narrow way to be born....it's purpose is to kill the life/power of the old man over us....like the baby is delivered from dependence on its mother (old life source). I think most of us are aiming too low...

When Jesus "took away" your sin, did He leave behind the source, the sin nature?

I would say one is perfected in love insofar as they are walking and living in love....which is another way of saying living and walking in the Spirit. And that is what John was speaking of. I don't believe anyone will sin or have an evil thought of their own when they are walking and...

When Jesus "took away" your sin, did He leave behind the source, the sin nature?

I don't think we should limit God to our experience. Is anything impossible with God? It is not arrogant to think we can be like Jesus...since we are called to become conformed to Him and like Him. We are called to be perfect as He is perfect and holy as He is holy. Mat 5:48 Be ye therefore...

When Jesus "took away" your sin, did He leave behind the source, the sin nature?

I don't see why the Lord could not cast Satan entirely out of these earthen vessels of ours and take full possession of us....prepared as a bride. Jesus has all power and authority to do so. But I think we need to come to the place where we realize we need that and are willing for Him to do...

The deconstructing of the law in the New Testament

Never said that we are under the Law. What is it you are trying to protect or defend? Are you thinking that everything that is written in the Law is null and void and therefore it's ok to wilfully sin willy nilly? The wages of sin is still death and always has been since the beginning long...

    Smith Wigglesworth and the Anointing

Just in a way of trying to reach out brother. You seemed as though you were feeling ignored or un-helped or something like that. And I wanted to say a little something about revivals because you were seeming to think there is no value in them (genuine revivals). But of course you don't have...

The deconstructing of the law in the New Testament

Well for example, the Law says do not commit adultery. .....but Jesus and the new covenant says if you so much as lust after a woman in your heart you have committed adultery. So that is the spirit behind the Law which said do not commit adultery.....inward purity, not just outward physical...

    Smith Wigglesworth and the Anointing

From scripture I believe we can glean that the Lord deals with His people both in a corporate way as well as personally. The bible speaks of "times of refreshing" coming from the Lord......revivals, movements. His Spirit moves at certain times to restore, refresh, rebuild, strengthen, purify...

The deconstructing of the law in the New Testament

I consider that it is the spirit of the Law written on our hearts and consciences. Not the temple ordinances, which were nailed to the cross, but the weightier matters of the law.........justice, mercy, faith, love, purity in morals/ethics etc.....serving in the new way of the Spirit, not the...

The deconstructing of the law in the New Testament

I don't know if we're getting our wires crossed, but this is the scripture I had in mind: Jer 31:31-34 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in...

The deconstructing of the law in the New Testament

No, it's not mutually exclusive like going left or right.......because inward change brings about a corresponding change in outward behaviour as well. That is the meaning of writing the Law on our hearts.........it speaks to inward change, not a matter of outward behaviour only.

The deconstructing of the law in the New Testament

Jesus was giving them a deeper understanding of it....as well as showing them the higher standard of the new covenant. An inward change, not just outward. The Law never could justify anyone....that is why the new covenant was necessary.
