False Christs, False Prophets and False Teachers. These are the days we live in.

Agreed. And even they fail at times. One pastor of a denomination I attended for over 10 years in the states, turned out to be stealing money. Now I'm here and I know a few priests really well. A couple I can think of leave much to be desired. But some are faithful men and love Jesus and serve...

False Christs, False Prophets and False Teachers. These are the days we live in.

Yes. You have not properly replied to my comment in the very first response up above. I stated that if we give the Holy Spirit ALL THE CREDIT (monogism) when we do His will,,, then we also have to give Him total responsibility when we sin. And you're responding by stating that we sin from...

False Christs, False Prophets and False Teachers. These are the days we live in.

Jacob and Esau represent NATIONS. It's clear. God DOES NOT pick individuals for salvation. The premise is incorrect. Again: Incorrect understanding of scripture leads to incorrect theology. And there' s more?? LOL

False Christs, False Prophets and False Teachers. These are the days we live in.

More nonsense. Sorry Pinseeker. Didn't even read all of it. I caught something at the end. "God does not actively choose some to be damned...." That is double pre-destination. Please explain the difference: God chooses who will be saved. God chooses who will be damned. double...

False Christs, False Prophets and False Teachers. These are the days we live in.

Silly boy. I asked you what YOU mean by Covenant theolgy. I KNOW what it means and what the reformed believe it means (the same). Seems to me it's a good idea to get our definitions before continuing ad infinitum about a phrase we may not even agree on. And as to ME not knowing Covenant...

False Christs, False Prophets and False Teachers. These are the days we live in.

Oh. And now I have to deal with NO MORE THAN 10,000 words... which means I could sit here till NOON !! No can do Pinseeker. Choose ONE TOPIC And we'll continue. part 2 of 2 You don't know what I would say. Perhaps you don't know that I happen to know the Covenants really well. But what...

False Christs, False Prophets and False Teachers. These are the days we live in.

This convo will soon come to an end. You're requesting me to PROVE that Augustine did not believe in free will. Augustine....the FIRST Catholic....in the 5th century that taught PREDESTINATION...which REQUIRED man have no free will. Interesting. I'll post this since it's the easiest to...

Saved, what is it & why the confusion as to how ?

And I'm not here to teach you anything rvmb. But I will NOT discuss weird ideas with other "Christians".

Saved, what is it & why the confusion as to how ?

Why don't your reconcile the conflict instead of making silly comments??

Saved, what is it & why the confusion as to how ?

Yes sir. You have perfectly shown why SOLA SCRIPTURA is NOT sufficient. You have exposed a conflict in the bible. HOW to reconcile it? The sealing refers to baptism. I do believe I misspoke slightly by saying that the sealing happens at baptism... both are true actually..slight nuance there...

1 Corinthians 13:13 Faith, Hope and Love

OK Ronald. I accept your belief. This is not a thread to debate,,,I just wanted the opinions of others. At this point,,,I believe that faith and hope will not be necessary in heaven. Love will last forever, of course. I agree with you that our jouney to heaven has already begun and that we are...

Saved, what is it & why the confusion as to how ?

The sealing of the Holy Spirit happens at baptism. The early church taught that the Holy Spirit descends and indwells the person at baptism. The laying on of hands was to transfer power...which is certainly received by the Holy Spirit for a specific purpose. For instance, in Acts 2 it was for...

Can One Be Christian and Not Believe In The Trinity?

The shipping is a problem. I read Italian but it's not my mother tongue and I can't retain what I read. The online stuff is too limited. I have David Bercot's book but that's too limited too. A thought would be to get only those I really want... like Ignatius for instance. Just thought of it....!

1 Corinthians 13:13 Faith, Hope and Love

Interesting thought process! I'd say it was a one-time deal. They made their decision and now they're living with it... those with God will always be with God... those that left will never be returning. They don't get a second chance like man does. If we could "fall" in heaven...Jesus would...

Can One Be Christian and Not Believe In The Trinity?

I wish I had a complete set of the writings. Not offered here in English and it would cost a fortune to have the set shipped here. Thanks for doing my work for me!

Can One Be Christian and Not Believe In The Trinity?

We're not ALLOWED to have doubts as to someone's CHRISTIANITY. I'm addressing the tenets of the CHRISTIAN RELIGION... not a person's Christianity. It seems to me that if you're worshipping Jesus in some kind way, however it may be... but He is NOT GOD.... then you're worshipping a man... even...

Can One Be Christian and Not Believe In The Trinity?

Right. I meant the comment about the 10 commandments to be in general as to the moral aspect. Shoulda been more clear. :phew:

Can One Be Christian and Not Believe In The Trinity?

I'd like to add that orthodox Christianity must be traced back to the early church. Sabbath worship cannot. The Didache,,,,teachings on how to practice the Christian religion - written about 90AD by new studies (it had been believed to be written up to about 120AD) states that THE LORD'S DAY...

1 Corinthians 13:13 Faith, Hope and Love

Hi ProDeo Glad you weighed in. You said our faith in the afterlife will help us to remain obedient. Have I understood? Don't you think we will always be obedient in the afterlife? Disobedience to God is sin. Seems to me there will be no sin in heaven. Just something to think about.

1 Corinthians 13:13 Faith, Hope and Love

Certainly a person can believe this as he will. From the way that Paul wrote 1 Cor 13:13 it would seem that they continue on to the after-life. So, in cases like this when scripture is not very clear due to translating problems, we have to defer to theology and what the Christian faith teaches...
