@WalkInLight We do need the help of the gracious Holy Spirit of God in order truly to understand and appreciate Scripture doctrine, especially as it concerns the Person and Work of Christ.

Well, I don't know about that; ppl express themselves in an individual way; and it may be that the reference was generally to the privilege of serving and suffering for the Lord. (But I don't know.)

PS: @Heart2Soul Already commented on what you said, but to add also: When it comes to the "if your're a real man" (AND "if you're a real woman") aspect which you raised about ppl in the military, this is certainly the longstanding perception as regards tattoos and the military. Although...
