THE Trinity can Now be discussed.

I would like to present what Eastern Orthodoxy teaches about the Trinity, and propose that what has happened here, on this thread, only proves that they are right. They do not believe in the same Trinity as we find in the western world of Christians. They believe in Monarchial Trinitarianism...

The Problems of Solo Scriptura (from Keith Matthison)

Edited. It could be. I don't know of a western Trinitarian who holds to the Filioque clause, (the Spirit is proceeding from the Son as well as the Father) and who personally claims Theosis for salvation, at baptism (of the Spirit). But then, I have only just 'gone over' to EO.

The Problems of Solo Scriptura (from Keith Matthison)

The early church did (and the EO still do) teach Monarchistic Trinitarianism which is not the same as the Trinitarianism of the western church. I wonder if this is the source of confusion. 'According to Monarchical Trinitarianism, as expressed by (MT), the Father is the sole ultimate...

    I think I meant complicit.

    Brainwashing/ Conditiong.

Yes agreed, and later, so does she. She emphasizes that we are compliant if we do not stand up and speak up. After finishing the book, I think everyone in the church should read it. Speaking out against what is accepted as normal.

    Brainwashing/ Conditiong.

Sisters, I am busy reading an excellent book called: Redeeming Power: Understanding Authority and Abuse in the Church Diane Langberg. She has a ministry to the spiritually abused in the church, and I am finding this book to be excellent but don't come back to bite me if she goes south later on...

    Difficulty Reconciling

Rejoice! @GracePeace, for the Lord is lifting up the veil at the corner for you, for you to see the deeper spiritual meaning in the scripture. The Illumination has arrived! You will not get an answer from those for whom the veil is still in place, and who say 'Peace! Peace! when you know that...

Testimony of a strange mercy from dark forces

Thankyou @dev553344 for being brave enough to tell your testimony in light of the stupid insensitive remarks and lack of empathy we have seen. Animals in the wild, when escaping their predators, or suchlike trauma, will shake their bodies furiously, which scientists show, releases the energy...

im trying to be sober but my body cannot take the pain

Any drug - nicotine, alcohol, coffee, street drugs, change your biological function and metabolism, so that must be corrected while quitting, and makes the job much less painful. You need the help of biochemists.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

I do not think they were infallible, no, but they, being of the same culture and language as the Apostles, and their disciples, and of a closer gap of time period, were much better qualified to interpret scripture according to the intention of the writers. Anyone who has studied the period is...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

BE ye holy as He is holy, does not say just believe it as a legal construct, which was brought into the church from the Latin quarter following the ideology of the Roman empire. God deals with reality. How does the world look upon those who say they are without sin, yet sin right in front of...

The third way (Arminianism v Calvinism)

Calvinism/Arminianism are both imbalanced, whereas the truth is somewhat in the middle, as is usual. Man has free will, and God chooses, when every man that comes into the world, is presented with the light of the gospel, when God decides to draw Him to Himself. That man can open up his heart...

Should A Wife Submit When Her Husband Isn't Godly?

A good therapist, when they hear about the situation the client is living in, and knowing that there must be a feeling of safety in order to recover from cPTSD, will likely advise that the abuser is requested to leave so that they can work on themselves at the same time. NOT together. It has...

Should A Wife Submit When Her Husband Isn't Godly?

A situation like this, is most likely much more complicated than it seems. A woman who ends up in an abusive relationship, has ignored red flags, indicating that the partner does not respect boundaries, and is not likely to respond to Christ for salvation, even if he claims it already. He may...

The third way (Arminianism v Calvinism)

I agree that enlightening in that context, does not mean salvation. I am not an Arminian as I believe the scriptures say that God chooses the time and place for every man when he is faced with the choice of which way he will go. He can accept the truth that the Holy Spirit has started to reveal...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

I don't know whether, @Christian Soldier , you want to wind me up or whether you do not have the mental capacity to remember what I tell you about myself and beliefs, neither of which bode well for any further discussion between us. I was a 5-Point Calvinist for approx. 8 years, and defended...

    Does The Bible Allow Slavery?

From another forum: "Augustine and other Romans on Religion and Politics, Slaves of God" by Toni Alimi (published Dissertation) is really hitting at some powerful points that are forcing me to re-think how I've understood Augustine's views on slavery...I.e, he was pro-chattel-slavery, and he...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

As I said, I will not debate a Calvinist. The hardest doctrine of all, and the one which folk hate so much in the early church's teaching, is that God requires a walk like that of Jesus (Theosis) and that the result of not doing so is laid out in, Hebrews 6:4 For it is impossible for those...
