    No Escape : From Hell

I didn't profess anything. I just said "destroy / destruction" is not torment. And you don't have to be an expert to learn some Greek words and their meanings. Again, my question was: "What did Paul mean at Romans 6:7, "He that has died is freed from sin"?" if you don't know, that's OK; just...

    No Escape : From Hell

Yes...."everlasting destruction". Not torment. Even Matthew 10:28 says "destroy soul and body". And the Greek word is not Hades (which is translated hell); its Gehenna, another meaning entirely. What did Paul mean at Romans 6:7, "He that has died is freed from sin"? @Marvelloustime @amigo...

    No Escape : From Hell

I would say that engaging in the slaughter of people, is about as corrupt as a person - or organization - can be! Especially heinous are religious organizations purporting to follow Christ, yet joining the world [John 15:19] & killing their spiritual brothers in its conflicts! -- John 13:34...

    Can God be insulted?

@Aunty Jane , Our Cong.Book Study tonight, regarding Korah's rebellion, had an interesting Scripture: Numbers 16:33. Korah went to Sheol! Highlights Jehovah's mercy.

    No Escape : From Hell

Hosea 13:14. Anyone like to comment on that Hebrew word Sheol there? It is translated in some English-Bible verses as Hell. Catholic Translations Douay-Rheims Bible I will deliver them out of the hand of death. I will redeem them from death : O death, I will be thy death; O hell, I will be thy...

Does the Bible contradict itself? - Reader Poll (and discussion)

is this a significant variation? Is it about a tenet? No. Still, I should have been more specific. There are Many contradictions between translations, and even some between ancient Biblical manuscripts / copies; they weren't / aren't inspired. But the Original writings were Inspired of Jehovah...

What Is the strongest argument for atheism?

Genesis 3:1-6 gives us some reasons why God has, for the most part, stayed out of human affairs..... issues regarding His Sovereignty (can man rule himself by making his own decisions, or do we need God's guidance), & His truthfulness were raised. The best way to resolve those issues? Let time...

    No Escape : From Hell

Yes. That's by design. Most translators are predisposed to certain tenets / beliefs, and they use words that really hide the meaning of the text. It's so evident when a person utilizes a Hebrew/English (or Greek/English) Lexicon! Especially where the original-language words for "soul" are used...

    No Escape : From Hell

Arent you forgetting "the unrighteous"? They too receive a Resurrection. They're not Born Again....

    No Escape : From Hell

So, what is the promised future Resurrection, for? (Acts 24:15) If the dead are still living somewhere, there'd be no need for them to come back to life.

Does the Bible contradict itself? - Reader Poll (and discussion)

there are no contradictions, its a Book easily misinterpreted, which has resulted in many false doctrines. It's a Book that requires God's help to understand it accurately. == Luke 10:21

    What Does it Mean…..?

I'd laugh at this explanation if it wasn't so sad. What do you think Jesus meant when He addressed Jerusalem and said @ Matthew 23:37-38, "Your house is abandoned to you"? Why would God choose some to rule w/ His Son Jesus in Heaven, only to come back down to Earth to rule from earthly...
