Mamdani win is regressive for NYC and unfavorable

I think he does. He's just became a lowly mayor with very limited political experience and radical policies. I give it a year or two before buyer's remorse kicks in.

Isn’t it odd that the apostles never questioned Jesus about his forever torture chamber?

That seems like a convenient way to pick and choose the things you like while disregarding the rest.

Isn’t it odd that the apostles never questioned Jesus about his forever torture chamber?

I don't think it does. God in his omnipotence can choose where His presence is or is not. I disagree. There's plenty of scriptural support for it.

Isn’t it odd that the apostles never questioned Jesus about his forever torture chamber?

I can think of several reasons, but the erroneous assumption is that Jesus is the one causing it. Hell is not a terrible place because God made it a terrible place. It's a terrible place because He isn't there. Just as cold is merely the absence of heat and darkness is the absence of light, hell...

    Hey Riven, May I ask?

If what is real is what we can see, then reality is just light waves bouncing off objects, entering our eyes, and being interpreted by our brains via electrical signals. That means that even colors are not real. The reality is, we can't perceive 99.99% of the world around us. We can only see a...

Isn’t it odd that the apostles never questioned Jesus about his forever torture chamber?

There is a deferred punishment coming for Satan. He will be cast into the Lake of Fire at some future point.

Isn’t it odd that the apostles never questioned Jesus about his forever torture chamber?

Because it was by divine revelation. Here's the thing: the Old Testament saints never talk much about hell or the afterlife because they didn't have much revelation about it. They only knew about the grave, Sheol, so they had a more neutral, if not pessimistic, view of death. When you get to the...

Melissa has crossed into Jamaica with sustained wind gust of over 200 mph, catastrophic cat 5

I've always wondered how they deal with hurricanes on those Caribbean islands. I live on the Texas coast, and If a hurricane comes, I can always leave. But they don't have that luxury.

The Bible - Fiction, or non-fiction?

So, tell me, do you think their argument about this is true? What is your honest take on the biblical narrative of the flood? Do you believe it actually happened?

The Bible - Fiction, or non-fiction?

And do you think the story is a myth because you believe God would never do such a thing? God was perfectly justified for the reason already stated, and because He is the highest authority and can do whatever He wants. I think you're trying to guilt people into believing the traditional biblical...

The Bible - Fiction, or non-fiction?

I wouldn't call it genocide; it was judgment. It also ignores the context, which others have noted is found in Enoch. Humanity and animals had become genetically corrupted. If God had not done what He did, there would have been nothing left to save. So, if it's not a genocide, then it would be...

Is that what you really believe or are you trying to make some odd point?

Any Star trek or Dr Who fans here?

I watched some of the old Who when Tom Baker was the Doctor, and I watched the new Who up until Peter Capaldi. I was a casual fan of Star Trek, mostly the older series, though I was more into Star Wars. I'm not a big fan of the newer stuff.

I don't know what it is, but I can't stand the idea of being 'beaten' by "Evolution" - Creation is *too beautiful* to be sidelined by angry naysayers!

That's called micro evolution, it's the expression of the variation within a species but it does have limits. What Darwin was espousing was macro evolution, the changing of one kind to another kind, and that has never been substantiated.

Muslim "no go zones" in Australia

That's what happens when Muslims get in the majority. Islam is just not compatible with Western civilization.

Does the Bible contradict itself? - Reader Poll (and discussion)

There are contradictions, and then there are apparent contradictions. A contradiction is a situation where the facts are unequivocally incompatible and can't be true at the same time. An apparent contradiction seems to conflict on the surface, but upon closer examination, it can be reconciled or...

Why I don't believe in a pretrib rapture

My wife had a similar experience when she was a teenager. She said she was lying in bed, and she left her body without any apparent reason. It was brief, and then she slammed back into her body. Some people claim to do this willingly through astral projection. I don't know if such a thing is...

Coincidence? Beach-side 'Nova' restaurant to open in Gaza

There's no way this was a coincidence. These are the types of people Israel is dealing with. The problem isn't just Hamas, it's the people. They elected Hamas in the first place. There's a reason why their Arab neighbors don't want them or why Egypt built a border wall between them and Gaza...

    Reason for The Crusades explained

That's all well and good, but we still live in a world where bad things happen to good people. There's been thousands of Christians that have been murdered in Nigeria this year alone. Tradition says they were martyred, but we don't know that for sure. Even if they martyred, it doesn't mean...
