    homosexuality and ethics

Unfortunately God has not seen fit to enlighten me with His Will in respect of human sexuality. Until He does, I will continue to assume that, heterosexual or homosexual, He made us how He wants us. Best wishes, 2RM.

    homosexuality and ethics

People deviate sexually from the norm in all sorts of ways. That does not mean all such deviation is immoral and/or sin. Best wishes, 2RM.

You haven't shown that homosexuality is sin. To do that, you need explain why a sin is sin, and then show that homosexuality fits into your model. If you can't do this, I don't see why anyone should pay any attention to your posts. Best wishes, 2RM.

So, you don't have a reason. Your antipathy, then, is just prejudice. Don't expect me to join you. Best wishes, 2RM.

Because it says so in the Bible doesn't explain why it says so in the Bible. So, my poor second rate mind wants a reason, and can't see one either from the Bible or otherwise. I am hoping you can explain for me. Best wishes, 2RM.

STDs are not limited to homosexuals. Heterosexuals also pass them around. Best wishes, 2RM.

Why is homosexuality a sin? Best wishes, 2RM

    homosexuality and ethics

I do wish that people would stop equating paedophilia and homoxuality. They are quite different. Paedophiles may be heterosexual as well as homosexual. Paedophiles cause harm to a child, either mentally and/or physically (and/or spritually, particularly if the perpetrator represents the church...

And just how, exactly, are you qualified to correct sin and error? Remove the beam from your own eye before attending to specks in the eyes of others... Best wishes, 2RM.

Interesting, Pearl. A couple of years ago I would have agreed with you wholeheartedly. These days, however, having paid the matter some attention, I tend to the opinion that sin is a'way of being'. If you consider the seven deadly sins (lust, pride, gluttony, avarice, envy, wrath and sloth)...

    homosexuality and ethics

We are, of course, all sinners. It's just some of us try to rid ourselves of it. I mention these obvious points lest some other poor sinner reading here despairs and becomes persuaded into misanthropy. We ourselves might do better if we simply observed Jesus' two great commandments, to love God...

Not necessarily. A father will love his son, whatever the son does. He may not always approve of him, but he will love him nonetheless. This deep, underlying love is what makes family rifts so painful. And this is how, in my understanding, God loves each of us. Best wishes, 2RM.

I would be interested to learn, amigo de christo, how you might define sin. In other words, what is it about sin that distinguishes it from virtue? Best wishes, 2RM.

Hmmm. Seems you cannot defend your personal beliefs without the Bible. Best wishes, 2RM.

Good post. I need to do some research before I answer it. You can help with this by citing your sources. Best wishes, 2RM.

Definately, while humanity was dragging itself out of the agricultural age through the industrial revolution. But you can have too much of a good thing. And I think that is where we are with the modern use of coal and oil and natural gas. Best wishes, 2RM.

The goal is to limit global temperature rise to 1.5C above pre-industrial levels at 2050. There is quite some distance to travel yet. We could, of course, go further, faster, were it not for economic vested interests and the cynical unbelief of climate-change deniers. Best wishes, 2RM.

Yup. Hook, line and sinker. As has the credible majority of scientists, and our more responsible politicians and sensible journalists. Best wishes, 2RM.
