Who Is "the Restrainer" In 2 Thess. 2:6-7

The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.

Who Is "the Restrainer" In 2 Thess. 2:6-7

So I guess Jesus and His Apostles were terrible examples for Christianity. They all worked on the Sabbath, but why should we bother to understand scripture when we can just invent our own self righteous understanding. Good luck with that.

The Great Awakening, separation, through the war of independence, vision of the end.

Conquest and the sword is always an evil thing, judgment by the hand of man as determined by heaven. Try reading and believing the scriptures as they pertain to the sword. God created Satan knowing that He would rebel. Is Satan's rebellion a good thing? Is death a good thing? Is destruction...

    Needing to Hear

I don't want to cause you more grief, but I'm curious as to why you gave your financial stewardship to your wife? Are you a member of a church assembly? Were you baptized and did you make the great confession before men? Did you ever acknowledge your sin before God and place your full trust in...

The Unsaved Man Does Not Need To “Stop Sinning”

You can't avoid legalism in these forums, nor the competitive nature of the flesh. Paul, when he was still known as Saul, was a self righteous religious zealot, and don't imagine that such zeal simply disappeared after his confrontation by the risen christ on the road to Damascus. The biggest...

The Unsaved Man Does Not Need To “Stop Sinning”

You're reading things into my post which aren't there. Use caution lest you be guilty of bearing false witness as so many here constantly do. God is not mocked.

Who Is "the Restrainer" In 2 Thess. 2:6-7

The "rest" represented by the commandment is to cease from works to establish righteousness. This has nothing to do with laziness or even physical labor. Jesus worked every day of the week as did His disciples (as a necessity of survival). Was the Lord guilty of transgression? .3 For what does...

The Unsaved Man Does Not Need To “Stop Sinning”

The unsaved man can't stop sinning.

Job, and the precursor event to the great tribulation.

11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: 12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through...

    Jesus Afraid?

Jesus was tempted in all ways that we are, but remained without sin. The fear of death, suffering , humiliation, etc., all amounts to the temptation to not trust God. In Jesus' case, the temptation to not trust His Father. In ours, to not trust the Lord and His word. It's no little thing to be...

The Great Awakening, separation, through the war of independence, vision of the end.

The Americas had many nations before their "discovery" by greedy men seeking profit, gold, and land at any cost. Those nations among the aboriginal peoples were ordained by God, not the brutal conquest, displacement and attempted Genocide by the European nations. Shame on you.

The Great Awakening, separation, through the war of independence, vision of the end.

Scary accurate in my opinion. I've never even tried to understand the prophetic visions of beasts representing nations and peoples, but this analysis is very close to the understanding I've arrived at through my perception of the world as "filtered" through scripture. Who are you and where do...

    Is believing/faith a work ?

Says the wack job that uses an image of God in violation of the 1st commandment in every single post and as an avatar representing himself, a clown in a "Jesus suit."

Who Is "the Restrainer" In 2 Thess. 2:6-7

Secular is a state of mind: The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good. Psalms 14:1 People who use religion to gain political support, are secular in the way they live, just worldly people with a fascia of...

Who Is "the Restrainer" In 2 Thess. 2:6-7

What does this have to do with entering God's rest by receiving Jesus Christ and keeping every day as the Sabbath? Are you arguing to keep a sinful life 6 days out of 7?

Who Is "the Restrainer" In 2 Thess. 2:6-7

That isn't what Hebrews 4:9-10 is saying at all, but I can see how the carnal minded can yank this out of context to take advantage of the simple. The entire book of Hebrews is about the superiority of Christ and His ministry to the Hebrew notion of righteousness through keeping of the law. The...

Who Is "the Restrainer" In 2 Thess. 2:6-7

Since the context of the Revelation of our Lord is entirely through the nation of Israel, why should we think that the revelation of the Antichrist would be through the gentiles? God did send prophets to the Gentile nations and Daniel gives us broad prophetic events regarding world history, but...

Who Is "the Restrainer" In 2 Thess. 2:6-7

Your reasoning is interesting. I take it you're a seventh day adventist or something along those lines. If that's actually the case, then you're simply ignoring the biblical teaching that Jesus Christ is our Sabbath rest, not some day of the week. The implication is that the born again in...

Who Is "the Restrainer" In 2 Thess. 2:6-7

I'm not a protestant, but was raised as a Roman Catholic, abandoned that church at the age of 13 because of the tremendous hypocrisy I dealt with as a child, was born again at the age of 39, and have been taught by the Holy Spitit since then. I'm currently 65, and you're a presumptiously funny guy.
