    Faith: True and False

    Nope.
  2. GracePeace

    Faith: True and False

This is a misattribution. I never said or thought that man saves himself by his own faith, but God reveals Himself to man, and He is the object of faith, and without Him revealing Himself, no amount of "faith" can save.

    Faith: True and False

Please keep in mind that the main topic is the fact that John's Gospel seems to teach there is such a thing as an invalid faith--it's not mainly whether people can or can't fall away (though I was entertaining that tangent with @marks, we had started that convo based on the original topic).
  4. GracePeace

    Faith: True and False

This is not addressing the topic. If it is please clarify how it is. I only raised James 2 as a preface--afterward, I said "Having said that..." and went on to the real topic at hand.

    Faith: True and False

Lots of misunderstandings and misattributions, but I will skip all of that, and zero in on the issue of faith in John's Gospel: I never said the crowd had faith, so that's a straw man if you're attacking that argument (also, it would show you didn't read the OP carefully). Also, briefly, you're...

What Old Covenant Laws are the New Covenant believer to obey?

I've had over a decade of experience discussing the facts with you guys, and I haven't found a single one of you interested in facts, so, no, not gonna waste my energy. You're all impenitent. In fact, I'll go ahead and place you on ignore, where you belong. I don't want to hear another word.
  7. GracePeace

    Faith: True and False

That was what I said before
  8. GracePeace

    Faith: True and False

I don't see how I've said anything different from what I've already said before.

    Faith: True and False

LOL! Yeah, I do believe the regenerate can lose regeneration (that's what it would mean for someone who is saved to lose salvation)--I don't want to start bringing all those verses up--but, nevertheless, the regenerate cannot lose regeneration!

    Faith: True and False

Yeah, I know you don't agree! LOL
  11. GracePeace

    Faith: True and False

That is not the topic. I'm not trying to identify the children of God, just discussing the fact that, indeed, there does seem to be this category of invalid faith taught in Scripture (as, before, I hadn't seen evidence of it), and "playing devil's advocate" with some of the passages that seem to...

    Faith: True and False

I really wanted to discuss "true and false faith in John", and I only included James 2 as a preface.
  13. GracePeace

    Faith: True and False

I LOVE the "ignore" button. LOL!
  14. GracePeace

    Faith: True and False

    Doesn't matter--Paul teaches the same (Romans 1:17, 14:5, 23; 2:6-16; Galatians 6:6-10). Nevertheless, I don't want to get into that conversation here.
  15. GracePeace

    Faith: True and False

Yes--but that is a different conversation, and I don't know if I want to get into it now.
  16. GracePeace

    Faith: True and False

The end result is the same: the saved can never be lost.
  17. GracePeace

    Faith: True and False

Yes, it is the same--because if, at the end of the day, you're "blotted out", you're accounted as having never been saved, which is the same thing as saying "the saved can never be lost", because those who are saved but are blotted out "were never saved", so that there is still the category of...

    Faith: True and False

I haven't been "reluctant to give a clear answer" in my mind.
  19. GracePeace

    Faith: True and False

The very first boast the user made was enough for me to place him on ignore--"I can't even..."
  20. GracePeace

    Faith: True and False

John seems to sidestep all the details, and get right down to the point: you cannot lose salvation. There are other details that can be brought in, but, at the end of the day, they're not relevant, because anyone who is saved cannot lose salvation, and if they lose salvation they are accounted...
