    Once Saved Always Saved

So that we are driven to the Cross and so that once we are there, we will never leave (because of the fear of the Lord; which is instilled in us through passages that teach a man can lose his salvation).

    Once Saved Always Saved

Those with a nominal, lukewarm, or shallow faith (mere mental assent to the tenets of the gospel) can fall away (Luke 8:13) and will be cut off (Romans 11:20-22) if they fall away.

    Once Saved Always Saved

A mere argument; not based in the Bible as far as I can tell.

No; I have always taught that if we are living the sanctified life, it is Christ who is doing the living in us and through us (Galatians 2:20). Also, you didn't answer the question. Is it self-effort to walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit?

Is it self-effort to walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit? I'm not going anywhere with this question, I don't think. Just curious as to what people's answer might be.

    Once Saved Always Saved

Of course it is a work of God. "Faith cometh by hearing; and hearing by the word of the Lord" (Romans 10:17)... See Isaiah 55:10-11. God's word will not return void. He gives faith to whom He chooses. The preaching of the gospel is mixed with faith in those who hear it and are saved...

    What If

I think because God told the Israelites not to be led astray by people who work miracles if they are seeking to lead you after other gods. In rising from the dead, Jesus proved that He was in fact YHWH...and therefore He was not seeking to lead the people of Israel to worship other gods with...

He told them to let their attitude after all is said and done be that "I did what was my duty to do."

That strikes me as being a mere argument against the biblical concept that the person with a nominal, shallow, or lukewarm faith can fall away (Luke 8:13) and thus lose his salvation and be cut off (Romans 11:20-22). But arguments will be dealt with by the weapons of our warfare which are not...

Yes; there is a lukewarm, nominal, or shallow faith (or, mere mental assent to the tenets of the gospel). A person with such a faith can fall away (Luke 8:13) or be cut off (Romans 11:20-22). Such a person is saved from sin (Matthew 1:21, Titus 2:14) and the kingdom of hell; but only for a...

Two Types Of Repenters That Find Damnation

I picture Joe Biden yelling at God just before he is thrown into the lake of fire, "You can't do that to me! I was President of the United States!" Rev 20:11, And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no...

    Biblical Salvation

I don't know. It seems clear to me that a man is regenerated as the result of repentance and receiving Christ.

    Once Saved Always Saved

In Luke 8:12 (the context) it says that those who will believe are saved. Also in Ephesians 2:8-9. Then, in Luke 8:13, it tells us of those who believe for a while and then fall away. Now, unless you are going to say that those who fall away continue to have salvation; which is heresy: this...

    Once Saved Always Saved

' I can tell you what it means. It is one of my favourite doctrines. What is written in Philippians 2:12 amounts to what is written in 2 Peter 1:10... 2Pe 1:10, Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

    Once Saved Always Saved

You are sadly mistaken in your doctrine... And this is also evidenced by the fact that you rarely, if ever, quote scriptures as they exist in the Bible but rather, only on rare occasions, give your paraphrases, that amount to heresy if taken to an extreme (such as "Whoever ASKS to be saved WILL...

    Once Saved Always Saved

Luke 8:12-13, Romans 11:20-22. There are plenty of people who claim to be Christians who live hypocritical lives in front of the world. Otherwise they wouldn't have the excuse that "Christians are hypocrites and therefore I don't want to join the church lest I become a hypocrite like the...

Not! Show in the Bible where it says that a man who ceases to have faith continues to be saved.
