    Once Saved Always Saved

Concerning epignosis. It should be clear that if anyone believes on Jesus they have everlasting life (John 6:47). Nevertheless, in Luke 8:13, we find the example of someone who "believes for a while and then falls away". Does a person who falls away continue to have everlasting life? I think...

I didn't say that they did...while I will say that they teach that believers don't sin while they abide in the vine; which is Jesus Christ. 1 John 3:9, however, does teach us that believers "cannot sin"... Which may be hyperbole...exaggeration to make a point. What point? That those who are...

    Once Saved Always Saved

The salvation that the Lord has wrought in me is what causes me to keep this rule of conduct. I am not going to put the cart before the horse here by saying that my rule of conduct saves me. I will say that my rule of conduct is there as the result of the salvation that the Lord has wrought in me.

I am very glad that you frequent these boards, @Michiah-Imla. We may have our disagreements; but I am very blessed by your zeal to promote the holiness of the Lord in the lives of believers. You are truly a blessing; and some of my burden is lifted because you are around. Keep up the good work!

I will also say that what Judas had was not godly sorrow that leads to real repentance...but a worldly sorrow (see 2 Corinthians 7:10).

    Once Saved Always Saved

I will say that real repentance does not constitute "trying to do better" in your own strength or the power of the flesh. It entails receiving Christ and His shed blood as the remedy for sin. Mat 1:21, And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his...

    Once Saved Always Saved

God is holy...so turning to God means turning to holiness and thus away from sin.

    Once Saved Always Saved

You escape on a technicality. I have shown that the concept of repenting of your sins to be saved is indeed found in holy scripture. Because you require the exact words you don't have to pay up. But you lose the argument; because the concept is there in holy scripture.

    1 Peter 2:24 = Hebrews 13:8

Jesus became a Man so that He could die; in that His soul and spirit would be separated from His body; which is physical death. Consider. Isa 41:4, Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he. Isa 44:6, Thus...

Divine Justification: greatly misunderstood or greatly misrepresented

Righteousness is not only positionally imputed; but it is also practically imparted (1 John 3:7, Romans 5:19, Matthew 5:6)...by extension Hebrews 10:14 (kjv).

The point is that is what is inspired of the Holy Spirit must be written by holy men or else it is not inspired of the Holy Spirit. Does looking at the "deeper truths" make this not the reality? I don't think so.

    Once Saved Always Saved

What I said there is actually biblical...if you took the time to study your Bible you would have known that it is biblical doctrine and would not have ridiculed it....but because you spend most of your "time in the Bible" listening to false teachers you have never heard of this doctrine that I...

I would encourage you, brother, by letting you know that you do not have to fail. (New Living Translation): Rom 8:12, Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. Rom 8:13, For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if...

He was not talking about mere mental assent...and you would know this if you studied the scriptures properly. She was Abraham's wife. Gen 16:3, And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to...

    We must repent of sin.

In the above post, we find that the meaning of repentance is clearly spelled out. Here is what Jesus said on the matter. Luk 13:1, There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. Luk 13:2, And Jesus answering said...

    We must repent of sin.

Eze 33:11, Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? Eze 33:12, Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of...

    Once Saved Always Saved

You continue to be blind to specific passages that have been shown to you that teach the reality that if a man repents, it will bring him life. For example, Ezekiel 33:11-20, Luke 13:1-5, 2 Corinthians 12:20-21. We must repent of sin. (post #1) We must repent of sin. (post #57 and #58) It...

    Once Saved Always Saved

If by "sinner saved by grace" you mean that you are someone who has the element of sin indwelling you (1 John 1:8); but in whom it has been rendered dead (Romans 6:6, Galatians 5:24, Romans 7:8) so that it no longer has any say over your behaviour (Romans 6:14), then I am in agreement with you...
