Saying you are without sin verses in 1 John

Chapter and verse. Oh, and my basics or foundation is grace. I believe the Bible teaches there are two major aspects of salvation a believer needs to be concerned with in this life. Some Christians have called this “Initial Salvation and Final Salvation,” but I prefer to simply say this is...

Saying you are without sin verses in 1 John

That’s not a real answer in explaining these verses. This simply sounds like you are unable to explain them.

Saying you are without sin verses in 1 John

There is no proof in context that Paul is referring exclusively to the 10 only. He is referring to the whole of the Law of Moses. Evidence? Read Acts 15. Certain Jews were trying to deceive Gentile Christians that they must be circumcised to be saved. Circumcision was a part of the Old Law...

Saying you are without sin verses in 1 John

What is your view of Galatians 5:24, 1 Peter 4:1-2, 2 Corinthians 7:1, Philippians 2:12, and 1 Timothy 6:12? My guess is you don’t believe these verses also in what they say plainly. You must twist them or ignore them.

Saying you are without sin verses in 1 John

So what? We can disbelieve the words of Christ? That’s what you are suggesting. So your view of the words of Jesus are anti-faith. You don’t believe His words apply to our life.

Saying you are without sin verses in 1 John

Okay. You guys really gotta stop this silliness. In 2 Corinthians 3:4-6, when Paul talks about the letter, he is referring to the Torah or the Old Law and not the laws of Christ (that were later all written down as Scripture that we have today in the New Testament portion of our Bible).

Saying you are without sin verses in 1 John

Some can, but it’s not a way of life or the normal operative way of the believer. They will in time overcome sin that does not lead to spiritual death.

Saying you are without sin verses in 1 John

There is a difference between justifying sin vs. battling against sin (seeking to overcome it). Your view on sin gives into sin and thinks one is saved. That is far worse than a believer who may even struggle with sin and yet they battle and fight to overcome such sin. It’s like an alcoholic...

Saying you are without sin verses in 1 John

You do realize that when a believer confesses and forsakes their sin they have mercy, right? (See: Proverbs 28:13) (1 John 1:9) (1 John 2:1) (1 John 1:7).

#6. Accidental manslaughter and being able to flee to cities of refuge (Deuteronomy 19:1-13); Contrast this with intentional murder which results in capital punishment (See: Deuteronomy 19:21, Numbers 35:31). #7. Adam’s Inherited Sin (Involving babies that die). I believe Adam’s Inherited Sin...

Saying you are without sin verses in 1 John

I believe there are non-death sins (Sins that don’t lead to the Second Death). But we should not try to treat any sin lightly in life. Sins Not Unto Death: Important Note: Please keep in mind that I am not trying to trivialize sin. I believe after we are saved by God's grace that we must...

Praise the Lord we agree on this truth sister. *Fist bump*

Saying you are without sin verses in 1 John

To quote another believer: “The error in your reasoning is that it fails to account for differences that occur over time. The state of a particular man at time A does not necessitate that he be in that same state at time B. John Doe may not be keeping all of our Lord's commandments today, but...

Saying you are without sin verses in 1 John

When you read Paul, you actually have to read the context. Paul never refers to how we are not to follow the new commands given to us by Jesus. Paul clearly refers to the 613 Laws of Moses or the Old Law given to Israel. This is evident if you were to read the Jerusalem council event in Acts...

Saying you are without sin verses in 1 John

I am judging the wrong belief and not any actual individuals. Anyways, when I ran into folks who believe as you do, they generally believe that you can sin and still be saved and you only lose rewards by sin. If this is the case, then I am just going to lose rewards. Whoop Dee Dee Doo. Why...

Saying you are without sin verses in 1 John

I never understood why Christians say they can sin and still be saved. That’s like saying good guys do evil. It doesn’t make any sense. You know the good guys vs. the bad guys by what they do. Jesus said you will know them by their fruits (deeds). If you justify sin, you are evil. Plain and...

What is the purpose of : Evil

I am really overjoyed that you have come out of Calvinism. Praise the Lord indeed. I am also glad it has changed your attitude for the better (Which I believe is natural). As for Penal/Wrath Substitutionary Atonement: Well, I definitely see Scripture as a Substitutionary Atonement. By his...

What is the purpose of : Evil

No need to apologize. It’s all good. I have misunderstood what folks have written plenty of times over the years. I make an effort to do the same as you and apologize if I do misread people’s writings. In any event, may God’s love shine upon you (even if we disagree strongly on what the Bible...
