    The Mystery

We are not playing 'top trumps' where I quote a bible verse and you trump it with a 'better' verse. I parapharased Eph 1:4 which you now seem to think is not relevent to your belief! Which is very strange as a key part of gal2:20 is:- the life I live, I live by faith in the Son of God. The...

    The Mystery

God hasn't chosen 'dead men' nor are 'dead men' to be found in him, and if it is God's intention that we live Godly lives we are not dead.

    The Mystery

Yet according to the verse you've quoted God's ultimate intention is that we live Godly lives.

    Confidence In The Flesh?

The action is what Jesus commanded. If we Love him, we will obey him. What did he command, that we should love others as he loves us.

    Discernment

As Christians we have the Spirit living in us, but we don't just listen for the Spirit to shout or whisper in our ear, we also have to change. We need bible biased brains or if you prefer, Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a...

King James Version Bible vs. Modern English Perversions

Thank you for clarifing. May I inturn clarify my understanding of what you have said. As far as you are concernen the Roman Catholic Church does not consider All who are not Roman Catholic to be Christian.

    fatherless, widow, hungry

There are rules about how one interprets any document. One takes in what the whole passage is saying and doesn't take any part out of context. The verses of James 1 26 Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their...

Sign of the times... Why no revival?

A suggestion for when visiting new/different churches is to complete a mystery shopper/worshipper form and to send it to the minister. Buisnesses value this sort of customer feedback as it helps improve there service. an example of this sort of report can be found at:- Ship of Fools: The Mystery...

Leviticus, a sacrifice is a victim

Why? To say that an animal killed as a sacrifice is a victim is to give that animal the same value as a human.

    fatherless, widow, hungry

As you've said, our agenda twists our understanding of what God has said to suit our purpose. James is talking about practical Christian living, pointing out that true Christianity means caring for the unfortunet, avoiding favouretism, showing our faith by our good deeds etc etc This could be...

    True Repentance:

I agree with your post. God is far holier than we can begin to imagine, but his love for us is also far greater than we can imagine. We talk about Jesus's crucifixtion, yet how much do we understand about what it physicaly cost Jesus, let alone what it cost him Spiritualy. Then people wonder...

    Roll dem' rolls

my vote is that you should be banned from showing such wonderfully tasty and exciting food. I'm salivating and my tummy is rumbling ;)

    fatherless, widow, hungry

He can be said to be referring to a great many verses across the bible. And if you are also referring to verses in Deuteronomy that talk about caring for widows etc, as those OT references would be about there physical needs it rather puts a hole in your spiritual argument.

King James Version Bible vs. Modern English Perversions

I would be interested to read your reasoning as what makes someone who follows basic Christian doctrine into a 'wolf'. I suspect it is because I am not a follower of Roman Catholism.

    fatherless, widow, hungry

I can see where you are coming from but think your interprtation is too free. The chapter is talking about being practical in our Christian living in both how we act and how we think. It is not an evangelistic passage, so James is being practical when he say to care for widows and orpheans

King James Version Bible vs. Modern English Perversions

The quotes about not reading the bible were from a RC source so any revission of history was by a member of the RCC. The source give the reason quite clearly, that the ignorant ordinary person should not be confussed. That means you and me, we should not be confussed by reading the bible...

    Watch God move.

The bible says nothing at all about a country being nearly equally divided between Christian and non christian. It is very dangerous to take any statement out of context and to quote it with a different/false meaning.

King James Version Bible vs. Modern English Perversions

I thought I had answered you on the permit, If I havewn't then look at Bible Forbidden to the Laity which quote two catholic sources that state that the ordinary people were not to read the bible. I've added a papal quote for good measure:- Pius VII said, "It is evidence from experience, that...

    Paul, the Stoic

There is nothing wrong with that. All that matters is that our wisedom is subordinate to Gods, or that we explain everything by reference to the bible.

Peter's sermon, Acts 2:31-38 on Pentecost:

I am not talking about Roman 10. I am talking about the need for repentance.
