John 3 - Born of Water and Spirit

    1. Hagar birthed Ishmael--Hagar signifies earthly Jerusalem in slavery together with her children the Jews signified by Ishmael. 2. There doesn't exist a verse of Scripture where anyone but "Jews" (those practicing the works of the Law--ethnically Jewish or converts to the "Judaism" of obedience...

John 3 - Born of Water and Spirit

He was thinking that John 3's "flesh gives birth to flesh" corresponded with "natural sons of Abraham--Jews" whom Galatians 4 taught were allegorically "Ishmael", "born of Jerusalem on earth [which] is enslaved together with her children", "slaves" "under Law" ; and that John 3's "spirit gives...

John 3 - Born of Water and Spirit

    1. Same as I've said 2. It wouldn't necessarily be disconcerting would it? Maybe he just thought it was "handy" that he'd just been speaking on that--I know that's happened to me before.

John 3 - Born of Water and Spirit

LOL That's exactly what I'd had in mind. To say Galatians 4 taught that "water baptism" birthed "slaves" is to say that water baptism represents the heresy, the "accursed" "false Gospel" Galatians 1:6-9, of putting men under the works of the Law Galatians 4:21 Galatians 5:11 ("preaching")--that...

John 3 - Born of Water and Spirit

BTW, is "baptismal rebirth" a dogma? I've already disproven "Mary is New Eve" which is the foundation of the dogma of "Mary's Immaculate Conception". This would be another. Psalm 119 "I have more insight than all my teachers because Your statutes are my counselors" (para). You're welcome. You...

John 3 - Born of Water and Spirit

@Illuminator "My little children, for whom I am again in pangs of labor until Christ be formed in you again." Galatians 4:19. He is speaking the Word by the Spirit so that Christ will be in them again. This arguing to bring them back under the persuasion from God is "giving birth again"...

John 3 - Born of Water and Spirit

No, you also missed that the author tells us "rivers of living water" refers to the effect of receiving "the Spirit" in John 7. We speak words of life after we receive the Spirit. We are born of God--by means of the Word spoken by the power of the Spirit.

John 3 - Born of Water and Spirit

@CadyandZoe @Ferris Bueller @Enoch111 @Ronald Nolette Nicodemus misunderstands what "born again" means ("Born again? Be born out of my mother's womb again?"), so, in His clarification, Jesus first addresses Nicodemus's error (the negative--"No, not being born of any womb at all--much less...

John 3 - Born of Water and Spirit

Until now I'd only heard of "air brakes". Are these like "hydraulics"? LOL

Created a new thread for the discussion.

John 3 - Born of Water and Spirit

Jesus is laying out the requirement for entering the Kingdom, so He's only discussing the new birth with "water and Spirit".

John 3 - Born of Water and Spirit

    Precisely my view.

John 3 - Born of Water and Spirit

Many, many times I have explained that my view is NOT that water and Spirit are the same but refer to the Word and the Spirit. I use the materials provided me by the author. Please do not miss that I think "water" is "Word". Yes, to say "born of flesh" and "born of spirit" refer to the two...

John 3 - Born of Water and Spirit

@CadyandZoe I will reply here when I get a chance.

    Bible alone

Already told you I'm not discussing this here as it's off topic. Please create a new thread.

    Bible alone

    That's disorderly, I don't practice that.

    Bible alone

LOL I meant "you're chiming in" on the off-topic discussion I'm trying to END so we don't mess up your thread--"you're preventing it from ending".
  18. GracePeace

    Bible alone

Now even YOU are chiming in? Water isn't pregnant. We're not born of it. Water isn't a being. I believe it is likely that "water" refers to "the Word"--"the Words I speak are Spirit" (yet we know "the Word" is distinct from "the Spirit"--they're tightly bound together though). "The Spirit is...

    Bible alone

No, by that reasoning, anyone could defend raising any topic found in the Bible, whereas this discussion is meant to center around the particular question of "Bible Alone"--not around the virtually infinite number of discussions that could be had on the topics that are found in the Book, but on...

Yeah probably an error. Although that first happened now I've stopped receiving emails.
