Must scripture be quoted to "prove" what is true?

Angry about deism, or the fact that you linked to a deist website to access a quote?

Was Peter ever in Rome? What saith the Scriptures?

That would be because you're a carnal person. Sorry, for you to have to go through that, Aspen. Nevertheless, well done, brother.

Is believing in the trinity necessary to be a christian?

One can disbelieve the former (as defined by some) while believing the latter It is true that GOD has a 3-fold nature; the son is divine (GOD); the son is not the father; the father is greater than the son; the logos who became the son preexisted creation. Yet the ideas of GOD being 3 persons...

Must scripture be quoted to "prove" what is true?

mjrhealth, I think JBRB is stumbling over the fact that you linked to a deist website in order to provide a Thomas Paine quote.

    Working out your salvation

I'm not saying everyone is, but I do think a lot of it is. Keep in mind that it's of the flesh it's demonically inspired. Go watch John Crowder on Youtube and tell me if you think his 'talking in tongues' is holy spirit inspired. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ec91wvUY7Yo

Better yet, why don't you explain to me why you don't see what I said in these verses?

    Are all forgiven?

The highlighted phrase is word for word identical in the LXX and Romans 11:26.

    Working out your salvation

Are you willing to admit that you have not committed a willful sin since you have been saved? Frankly, I think that a lot of what is called speaking in tongues today is demonically inspired. Have I just blasphemed the holy spirit?

Is homosexuality something God can redeem?

Trying to get back on track here... Yes GOD can redeem a person who practices any sin IF that person ceases to practice that sin. You folks are doing this forum a disservice by engaging SIM. He is an egomaniac who thrives on attention, and steers every thread into a Catholic vs. protestant...

    Working out your salvation

But no one's answering the question I put forth. If someone commits a willful sin after receiving the knowledge of the truth, is there no more sacrifice for their sins?

    Working out your salvation

All sin is grave sin because it separates us from life. Are you saying, or implying, that if a person willfully sins, no more sacrifice remains for them (as some people appear to interpret Hebrews 10:26)?

    Working out your salvation

I'm coming to Rach's defense here. All of our sins are willful sins because they involve our will. What the writer of Hebrews was saying is that if we willfully walk away from the truth and deny Christ, there is nothing that can save us; there is no sacrifice for our sins because his sacrifice...

    Are all forgiven?

Because I'm looking at them side by side. They are virtually identical in Greek. Really, every Christian should equip themselves with good tools that allow them to see for themselves what the scriptures actually say by downloading the free software in the first three links in my signature.

    Tithing

Tithing as it is taught today is not tithing as taught in the law. Today's tithing is an income tax, which is not biblical. Gifts and a religious income tax are two very separate things. The former is a fruit of the spirit; the latter is a form of self righteousness. The former is of GOD; the...

    Scripture interpretation ?

Quite a foolish thing to say.
