The bride, mentioned there, is the City of God, New Jerusalem--so called because Jerusalem was the place where God had had His Temple, the place He lived on earth, but we are now His Temple where He lives on earth. I think we are done with this now as we are quite far off topic.

If you're inferring the Spirit is the Church, let me just advise that these are not things to be taken lightly--better to pray and ask God for understanding than to blurt things out which may be disrespectful. The Spirit is God. The Church is not God.

When John referred to "bridegroom and bride", the context was a denial he (ie, John the Baptist) was himself Messiah/Christ. It's not about whether he "saw" the church--he already "saw" the dove, and so knew Jesus was the Christ.

When I see stuff like this, I just think, "Well, yeah, it had to happen. This is the ride we're on. Christ is returning. These things had to happen to push us closer and closer to Him."

To quote from an imperfect source to appeal to unbelievers (as a means of outreach--the way Paul did on Mars Hill) is different than teaching doctrine to believers--when you teach doctrine to believers you have to be citing authoritative sources.
