    Learning cultures and history

You being British Pearl, of course would know this much better than I but...I hope you don't put C.S. in this category o_O Lol, to me, his writing is like none other, But then, we all have our likes and dislikes :) xx

    Instruction in righteousness

As time goes on, my "passions", or "emotions" can be over the edge...with myself not another. The crying thing which comes immediately after a breakdown can be deeply sorrowful. It has this hold on me that will not break :( I can surrender it to Christ everyday and every morning it is there...

    Oh Boy! Seeing So Much!

Didn't learn that in a church at all...most of what I have learned has been on my own, reading the bible, prayer and also commentaries. I know, even the commentators can be wrong but, I learned things none the less. I can remember the day when the conversation with Nicodemus came to mind and I...

    Oh Boy! Seeing So Much!

Hm, interesting. Now that is not anything I've thought of when reading these passages. I see two things spoken of here, one - Jesus said one must be born not only of water (Earthly-mom's womb and fluid perhaps?) two- that one must also be born of The Spirit (spiritual). I know many laugh and...

    Instruction in righteousness

Basically, it's us who need to surrender or, empty ourselves so we can choose to give Him everything and He will strengthen us or, give us a way out of temptation so we sin less and less as He shows us...ourselves. All in relation to how much we are willing to let go. JM2C

    Instruction in righteousness

Hi Epi, On a second reading here, I must disagree when you say it is God who crucifies our flesh, or "outer man". How would you then interpret: Galatians 5:24 "Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires." This sounds to me that it is something we...

    Booster shots...

Yes, one of my brothers has been talking about this and how they will be getting through borders illegally even. Nice how China won't share the "variant". "Population control" is alive and well and has been around for a long time...now population control is way out of control.

    Gays in the Bible

"without natural affection" does not have a thing to do with homosexuality," "The phrase “without natural affection” comes from one Greek word (astorgos) that is found in only one other place in the Bible– Romans 1:31. It means exactly what it says, “unsociable”, “unloving”, “inhuman”. It is...

    I can't trust Christians anymore.

Hello Drive, Welcome to the forums here. Mental health is all but shunned by the "church". Many fall through the cracks and these, who need fellowship and welcoming in the family of God even more so IMHO...are left behind. That pastor was not a true shepherd IMHO. I have a story MUCH like...

    Darkness and light (poll)

Even though there is much I have learned from Epi, you do have good points sister...I believe he is sincere in what he believes/teaches. I cannot say I agree one hundred percent with anyone. But, we have discernment (if we do) and can filter the things we do not agree with and learn from the...

    Atheism and Christianity

Thank you John! Such clarity...did not know this was speaking of the Samaritans. I thought they DID serve the same God and that the only reason the other Hebrews hated them was because of their blood line but, I now se there is much more to the story. :Bestest:

Yes, I suppose you are right as the Hebrews did not believe they were God's chosen...

    Atheism and Christianity

Ha! Yes...the first son represents the Pharisees the second one I think represents the righteous as the Pharisees talk a good talk but, it's all lip service as they do not do as they teach. The second son obeyed his father in the end.

    Atheism and Christianity

I've read one time where the word "hated" could be replaced with God "preferred" Jacob over Esau. That sounds more in line with Gods character...?

    Atheism and Christianity

Hi Mark, Why would you say a Samaritan was an atheist? They were still Hebrews who worshipped the same God as Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The other Jews hated them because they were of mixed blood...I believe but...atheist's?
