    JESUS IS NOT COMING AGAIN

I know some angels who would disagree with that, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” Acts of the Apostles 1:11 NKJV

    Jokes, fun and comedy

In remembrance of the [USA] Christmas 2021 looting epidemic,... A girl was walking down the street one night with her gangster boyfriend when they passed a jewelry store. "Oh!" she said, "Look at that beautiful diamond necklace. I'd just love to have that." So her boyfriend picked up a brick...

    Christian Prepping

I believe, as others have reported, that Apocalyptic events are too big to "prep" for naturally, but natural disasters are worthy of some prep. Freezing water jugs for blackouts only cost us a little freezer space. Did you know that if water service was temporarily interrupted, your water...

"I quite like males with earrings": a low-key, respectful discussion

The poll is a subjective "whether I like it or not." I do not. I do not like most piercings. But there is liberty (apart from occultic contexts).

    Tithing

True. I am just saying that God's given promise still works (at least, so far for us).

    Tithing

(Using "murdered" in the same sentence as "to recover Lot" is contradictory.)

    Tithing

Tithers see that verse as a promise with conditions and a statement of cause & effect, not a threat. I avoid prosperity doctrine-type churches. Tithing is part of my church's teaching on finances, but finances are not the central focus of the church I attended.

    Tithing

After our bankruptcy in 2004, we started using a banking version of the "Envelopes" bookkeeping system. We are still on the poverty line, but I have a credit score of 800+.

    Tithing

Its promise is not "judgment if you don't," it is "blessing if you do." If you are happy with how your finances are currently going, you don't need to try anything different. No one else, here, stands to gain anything from your decision, one way or another.

    Tithing

An offering is a different animal. We have given offerings in the past, but cannot afford to, now. Malachi 3 applies to tithes, not offerings. (Also, we did not tithe off of SSI nor EBT because they are unearned; just wages & SSDI [a pension based on work].)

    Tithing

"...And [test] Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor...

I want to create a new holiday...

His Resurrection coincides with the Jewish Feast of First Fruits, which is a part of Passover.

I want to create a new holiday...

For early New Testament believers, that was Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets), a.k.a. Jewish New Year. Even though we have lost track of Jubilee cycles, He is especially expected to appear on a Year of Jubilee. We commemorate that day by eating Bugles (an American snack chip). We used to sound...

    Tithing

This is a continuing --albeit minor-- disagreement among tithers. Gross tithers don't tithe off of their tax returns; net tithers do. (It is just a matter of how the Holy Spirit convicts you.) Net tithers tithe off of profit and consider unreturned taxes to be loss; an item of overhead...

    Tithing

For us, it IS an item in our budget. Giving, in contrast, is anything above that.

Why did God give us the Bible?

It is the textbook. You need the Paraclete [John 14:26] to make it go.

    Tithing

I tithe to the church we would go to, if they could accommodate us and a different church that actually ministered to my non-disabled children, 50/50. (If we found our preferred type of church that could accommodate us, we would go/tithe there.) I can attest that God has kept His promise in...

Fun thread....Did you know......(finish the sentence)

No, my son in college in Milwaukee [WI] attends a Korean church/outreach and has a girlfriend from there.

    Workout motivation needed!

    Toe-touchers would stretch those out.
