It's a general word of instruction to the body of Christ, so we are not on our own with it. But it isn't meant to be an intellectual exercise for the carnal mind, but rather through the Spirit to renew our minds and feed, strengthen and build us up in the inner man of our spirit.

We're all called to put on the full armour of God, which includes the sword of the Spirit, God's word.
