Bible Study: The Gospel is in the Torah

@Episkopos The best case scenario, of course, is that we hold both the correct doctrine, and the correct application, but that isn't always the case.

Bible Study: The Gospel is in the Torah

On the flip side, it is possible to have a correct doctrine but an incorrect application, and vice versa : it may very well be that those who deny justification by works on that Day have the result that they remain at peace by honoring Christ's sacrifice, and, so, they reap the benefits of grace...

Bible Study: The Gospel is in the Torah

Ro 2:6-16 says eternal life depends on whether you are justified (which depends on your works) on that Day : are you saying can be saved AND condemned (not justified) and not repaid eternal life but wrath on that Day? I thought salvation was FROM His righteous wrath on unrighteousness.

Too late, sucker! I built the bike, and my son's riding it--told you I didn't need those extra pieces!

Bible Study: The Gospel is in the Torah

Those verses are just "extra pieces". They're in there by mistake. I know this because "faith alone"--I make it the "Sun" of my Bible "solar system", and whatever verses threaten that, too bad, I don't need them, they don't exist, they're "extra", put in there by mistake.

Only Those Who Do the Will of God Will Enter the Kingdom

Yeah, maybe "hoe" means something different where you come from--where I'm from, I'd always thought it meant a loose woman not a woman paid for her "services".

Only Those Who Do the Will of God Will Enter the Kingdom

If you really want to help people, including me, petition God that He would give you the grace to actually honor ALL of Scripture, not just your favorite snippets, so that you could actually make a coherent argument, instead of dishonoring/ignoring Scripture so you can just say what ever...

If you want to present an argument against my position, go ahead.

I remember our discussions, and how you have no intention of answering issues, so I won't be continuing in wasting my resources on you--I refer everyone to the conversation we've already had here and all other threads where I've discussed issues with you.

Only Those Who Do the Will of God Will Enter the Kingdom

Including Christ being wrong about who will be raised to life--those who have done good will not be raised to justification and life, and those who have done evil will not be raised to condemnation and death? Just deal with the subject matter, don't muddy the waters with emotional personal...

Only Those Who Do the Will of God Will Enter the Kingdom

I agree that people who live their lives looking to Christ as their truth they live by both toward God and men, with the result that they are filled with Christ, and they are empowered to behave like Christ for His glory, in love and righteousness, will be raised to life on the last day, and I...

Only Those Who Do the Will of God Will Enter the Kingdom

No, from the context, the issue is they don't do the good He teaches. Do you deny that this is the thing Christ objects to inasmuch as He calls them "lawless" in spite of their performance of supernatural works in His Name thinking they are serving Christ--that the issue is "I did not tell you...

Only Those Who Do the Will of God Will Enter the Kingdom

Yes, "oops" : their error is in saying "I have been righteous in the past, therefore, I can turn from righteousness and do evil and get away with it", but God heads them off at the pass, warning them that He will not remember that past righteousness they are depending on to justify them while...

Only Those Who Do the Will of God Will Enter the Kingdom

Nope, that's not the issue at stake. The issue at stake is they think that being pleasing to God consists in doing supernatural works, not in being LAWFUL, DOING THE WILL OF THE FATHER, WHICH IS FOLLOWING RIGHTEOUS BEHAVIOR IN ACCORDANCE WITH HIS TEACHINGS. That's the "proper" way to conclude...

These are terms I didn't think I'd see on a Bible discussion forum.

    1. Yet you already conceded that Abraham was justified AFTER he believed because of his works that completed his faith, which happened later on after he believed. How was he "justified" AFTER he believed if justification is a one-time event, and there is no ongoing assessment/judgment? 2. Is...

Only Those Who Do the Will of God Will Enter the Kingdom

Same as happens in Matthew 18 with the parable of the unforgiving steward--he did not love as he was loved, did not forgive as he was forgiven, thus, his faith counted as righteousness, not being completed by works, goes away and his debt (which had been forgiven as a consequence of his faith Ro...
