    THE GOSPEL

Challenge accepted. Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 11 And not only [so], but we...

    THE GOSPEL

It says that our sins were put on Him. There's no idea of substitution there.

    THE GOSPEL

That verse doesn't mean quite what you're saying.

I asked Jesus to critique my faith - He said "you take too long to rebuke the Devil" (no kidding!)

I hope that works out well for you. I did not mean to impugn ALL doctors. The Bible is not against doctors. Jesus Himself was a physician. It's really just modern doctors who practice allopathic medicine that are problematic. They are pill dispensers rather than real doctors... There are...

    THE GOSPEL

Ah... substitutionary atonement. That idea is missing from the New Testament. It was created by St. Anselm of Canterbury in the 10th century AD. The Biblical idea of atonement is NOT a substitution, but rather a covering. Jesus' blood covers our sins.

In Biblical times, one who trafficked in drugs was a φαρμακεία (pharmakeia), which is translated in our Bibles as SORCERY. Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are plain: fornication, impurity, licentiousness, 20 idolatry, SORCERY, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger, selfishness, dissension...

Can One Be Christian and Not Believe In The Trinity?

Emanationism holds that Jesus existed in eternity past, but not separately from the Father. At some point, He was... emanated... and that's where the distinction is drawn. John 1, I'm not sure what else. Anyway, the Catholic church officially condemned emanationism as a heresy in the 1960s...

The Prodigal's father was done horribly wrong. - Why wasn't that an issue?

Perhaps he started out as a wayward little brat, and had to learn a little humility before he became something better. :)

Can One Be Christian and Not Believe In The Trinity?

I can think of a couple ways off the top of my head. One could be a binitarian. This works just like Trinitarian belief, except that it holds that the Holy Spirit is just another name for the Father, and not a separate person. One could be an emanationist. In this view, Father refers to God...

Can One Be Christian and Not Believe In The Trinity?

The Trinity and the Belief in the Divinity of Jesus Christ are two different things. Seems like the opening post confutes them. There are plenty of non-Trinitarians who believe Jesus is God

    Jesus was not a Jew?

Is Hebrews wrong? Hebrews 7:14 For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, and in connection with that tribe Moses said nothing about priests.

The Prodigal's father was done horribly wrong. - Why wasn't that an issue?

Potato, Potahto. The Gentiles are adopted and become the new Israel. The Promise to Abraham was "I will make you a father of nations." The adoption of Gentiles fulfils that promise.

    Jesus was not a Jew?

Once upon a time, God wanted to give mankind commandments that would help them. He went to the Islamists, and told them, "I have commandments to give you. If you do them, your lives will be better." "What kind of commandments?" Mohammed asked. For instance, God said, "Thou shalt not kill."...

The Prodigal's father was done horribly wrong. - Why wasn't that an issue?

Matthew 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. I know my theology is weird by the standards of orthodoxy. I also haven't had anybody seriously impeach it in some time. I suppose the loyal opposition would have to understand it first...

The Prodigal's father was done horribly wrong. - Why wasn't that an issue?

I might be thick, but I don't see a contradiction there. Are the Pharisees not emblematic of Judah? Are the Lost Sheep not Israel everywhere else in Scripture?

The Prodigal's father was done horribly wrong. - Why wasn't that an issue?

You could use it that way and I wouldn't object. I don't think that was the intended lesson, though. This is a telling of the story of Israel, Judah, and God. Israel is the Prodigal. Upon their return, their brother Judah holds them in contempt.

ARE THEIR TWO CHURCHES OR JUST ONE?

How to respond to this? (pulls out urim and thummim)

ARE THEIR TWO CHURCHES OR JUST ONE?

Again, this doesn't establish criteria for every apostle that would ever live. There's no reason to treat it that way. Here's Paul reckoning himself among the apostles, not as belonging to some separate OTHER church: 1Corinthians 15:9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be...

What is the difference between the gospel to the Jews and the gospel to the gentiles?

God reckons 'Israel' as those attached to the Root. The wild branches who believe are grafted in. The natural branches who disbelieve are pruned. All Israel shall be saved... according to the way God reckons Israel. The problem is that we reckon 'who is a Jew?' differently than God.

ARE THEIR TWO CHURCHES OR JUST ONE?

Discounted? Using proper context GIVES it real meaning. You trying to use it willy nilly makes it of less effect.
