John 1:1 and Jesus’ Sonship in Adoptionist thought

@Wick Stick, have you ever read the "Protoevangelium of James", (aka Yakob), text concerning the same subject matter? https://books.google.com/books?id=Cmbtm4ZZXF0C&lpg=PP1&pg=PA52#v=onepage&q&f=false Protoevangelium of James (aka Apocalypse-Revelation of Yakob) 11:2-3 2 And behold, an angel...

No one has seen God at any time, John?

The passage you posted does not say what you say. There is no statement in John 1 saying that "Jesus is the Word", it's rather all presumption on the part of those who wish to force their preconceived doctrine into the text. Please prove your accusation with actual evidence. What Greek word...

No one has seen God at any time, John?

That would likely take its own thread to fully explain: here is an extremely short answer. All flesh is not the same flesh, and Mosheh wrote the Torah on lambskins, regardless of what modern Judaism might say about that, (even every scroll or fragment discovered at Qumran ended up being either...

No one has seen God at any time, John?

Oh, wait, there was something else I almost forgot. The term creed has been bandied about several times by different posters here lately, so I'll add one of mine, a small and short one, and not my words except for my repeating of what the following bold plain emphatic statements from the Meshiah...

No one has seen God at any time, John?

Fair enough, I suppose, no reason for me to ramble on about it at this point anyway.

No one has seen God at any time, John?

I simply called it as I see it, and it was probably less about what you think and more about what I see as typical of people who claim to be Trinitarians. The simple truth is that there is really only one main criterion in the modern mainstream: "Does the person confess 'Jesus is God' or not?"...

No one has seen God at any time, John?

Thanks, now I understand this portion, and I agree that it is indeed what has happened, (at least in the west), but I do not agree with consigning people to outer darkness just because of a dispensationalist+futurist perspective.

No one has seen God at any time, John?

I am not even really sure what this statement is supposed to mean. Who is The Church, (in upper case)? What does "in general (officially)" mean? I am being serious: one could actually take that as speaking of the RCC. Lastly, I find it quite difficult to believe that anyone claiming to be a...

No one has seen God at any time, John?

The way you have read those posts is exactly the same way I read them even as they were first posted when we were on that page of the thread. Going back to make screenshots only confirmed that I, (and you), had read them for just what they say.

It's probably easier resolved using screenshots of those posts. .

Ah, so you are now also more knowledgeable than Paul.

No one has seen God at any time, John?

2 Corinthians 12:1-4 1 Surely it is of no profit for me to boast: but I come to visions and revelations of the LORD. 2 I know a man, prior to fourteen years in Meshiah, whether in the body, I know not, or whether out of the body, I know not: Elohim knows the certain such a one was caught up into...

No one has seen God at any time, John?

Not true. You quoted a translation the way your chosen translation is written. That is clearly not the same.

No one has seen God at any time, John?

Adding words to the "I am" statement of the Master destroys the meaning. He does not say "I am he". They understood that he did not complete the I am statement at one point and actually asked him, "You are who?" (not Who are you?, but You are who?) because they knew the statement was incomplete...

No one has seen God at any time, John?

I made a mistake and have now corrected it: I should have only wrote "Gen 1", (the whole chapter), not Gen 1:1, (the first verse), just to clarify. Many things are doubled up as far as names and titles for the Meshiah and the Son, and surely for good reasons, (welcome to Adoptionism). Which is...

Perhaps this may help: The Meshiah is not in Gen 1. The Son of Adam is in Gen 1.

No one has seen God at any time, John?

The Father is omnipresent: the heavens and the heaven of the heavens cannot contain Him, (Deu 10:14, 1Kngs 8:27, 2Chr 2:6, 2Chr 6:18), and there is nowhere anyone can go where He is not there. If you could ascend into the heavens, He is there: if you could descend into Sheol, He is there, (see...

Amen, the Testimony of the Meshiah is the Spirit of the Father because the Son is upon him throughout his earthly ministry, (and the Son is not a man, but the Logos-Word of the Father). Matthew 11:30a For my yoke is CHRESTOS....... Taste and see that Yah is chrestos, (Greek Chrestos = Hebrew...

The one and only, one-of-a-kind Son who is ever in the bosom of the Father, (John 1:18), at His right hand side: that one is the Logos-Word of the Father. https://www.christianityboard.com/threads/logos-logic.71020/

No one has seen God at any time, John?

I was just reading a post by a member called @Pierac a little bit ago, making an excellent point: if the Meshiah or Chosen One has a God, then he is not God, for that would be two gods.
