Yes, I think that since God always knows we just want to "please" Him, He continues to always maintain forgiveness (1Jn 1:9). It pleases Him to see us confess (admit) when we've sinned, and just continue to thank Him for His forgiveness.

Our responsibility involves us "pleasing" God, as He "works" this in our hearts and minds (Phl 2:13).

Anything wrong that was not intended, i.e. wrath, jealousy, saying or doing something you realize that you did not want to say or do, etc.

Why would a Christian desire to sin willfully? Maybe one who is young in maturity in Christ, until the Spirit guides him differently.

Hi Marks! Paul said he did not want to sin (Ro 7:15-20). To me, to "walk after the Spirit" is to always want to please God (Phl 2:13); this involves not committing willful sins (Heb 10:2).

Your not a Christian if you still sin willfully. Paul do not want to sin after he converted (Ro 7:15-20). Some people are mistaken, thinking Paul was not saved in Romans 7, or he was speaking about his life before rebirth. A sinner will not have a desire for God like he showed in Romans 7.

It's ok, but I never said "if you are a Christian, you have willfully sinned, and confessed it." It's if you're a Christian you no longer sin willfully. Thanks.

You're probably misunderstanding me. Nobody has been perfect through their entire life, we've all desired to sin prior to being reborn. You can discern between if you're sinning willfully or not. Nobody lives without sinning, and if it's intentional you're still not reborn (Heb 10:26).

True, a Christian will not sin willfully; God has replaced our desire for sin with the willing and to doing "of His good pleasure" (Phl 2:13).

I don't think it as if God has to keep re-forgiving (if that's a word); we do not keep going in and out of His forgiveness. Instead of asking for forgiveness, we can continue to thank Him for His forgiveness when we do wrongfully.
